I can't test this because I'm nowhere near close to mallyx, but wouldn't this be very helpful vs him? AFAIK it would be the only way to slow his attack speed and one of only three able to slow his movement (other two being ward against foes and muddy terrain)

- 95% of the time is NOT all of normal mode, especially if you're counting the two Shiro fights and Mallyx (although who really fights him in normal mode now adays). This skill is great for fighting tough monsters in hard mode, like bosses or tough end-of-game foes that come by themselves or in a small mob. There are plenty of places to use tryptophan in Tyria. Bug[edit]
I strongly believe this works only on the targeted foe, not all adjacent foes. Tested against Hard Mode Zombie Brutes, which can keep up with players under Dash. When using this sig against a group of Brutes, only the target foe breaks aggro when dashing off, the others still have the same speed. Adding bug tag. RolandOfGilead 08:23, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
For those that are calling this a bad skill, remember one thing. It is not a hex or condition. The bosses that receive reductions on the durations of those effects would not get the same on this. But for major bosses like Shiro, I agree it would be better to speed him up with SV on him than to slow him down. In any other case, it is a free speed de-buff to catch kiting monks in hard mode, for instance. Guildwarsrunner 02:20, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- It is a bad skill, because it requires touch range and warriors spamming this very 15 seconds gain adrenaline slower, thus dealing a lot less damage, which is redundant (foes deals less damage, you deal less damage=slower battle with no real change in outcome). The DMS+DAS idea kinda fails unless you are running away, and that is not really a cornerstone of PvE (unlike PvP, where kiting is good), so however you use this skill, it never reaches maximum usage (one of the effects is always redundant)Crimmastermind 02:28, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

- I still would not use it. I mean, I could easily use Shadow of Fear or some other Necro Hex to slow down attackers. But I just do not do it. Not many if any players used this skill before, and changing it to ranged just makes the idea of applying Tryptophane to the target at range somehow look silly. - Useful alternative to Shadow of Fear versus Destroyers...Hex Eater Vortex/Shatter Hex x5 gets old really fast. Of course, you're better off with unconditional spammable AoE blind in almost any case where anyone would use this anyway. The idea of using it primarily as a snare is interesting, although I can only think of like two places in PvE where snares are srs important...Moddok Crevice, and one certain quest on Istan. - Meteor Shower was the meta like, a year ago or something. Everybody runs cryers now. Tryptophan Signet helps keeps mobs from running into the cryers if they spike uncleanly. Deep Freeze is usually brought along by a /E, but with this buff, DF is pretty much obsolete.Pika Fan 19:48, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- My old guild ran MS + DF. In easymode, there are easier/faster ways to get shit done (even a year ago)...in HM, the damage is reduced to lolnothing, so all it does is keep a group in KD, maybe, with a clean and coordinated cast. Not that that's not useful, sure. But it is a single skill combination made to counter HM buffs, in broken areas where you need that kind of fullstop power; snares in general just don't do much in pve. Oh, and Trypto won't be as good as Deep Freeze until rank 5 or something, so you'd likely have to grind for it anyway... Vili 点 08:43, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

- I want to try this skill against Magni the Bison in the Norn Tournament. He's annoying to Hex/Cripple, this signet however seems unremovable and would be probably very effective in allowing to kite Bison the entire match.--Sensei 11:50, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
