Explorable area or Region?[edit]

Explorable area or Region? Backsword 09:55, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Seems to be a region in itself, as it's closed of from the Far Shiverpeaks. Backsword 10:36, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
Well, that was a surprising answer. Backsword 13:46, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Having a little monologue here Backsword? :-) -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 14:50, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
No one else wants to tlak with me... Backsword 12:17, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Can we add a map of this area to the page? Ken 03:41, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Slavers' Exile exit[edit]

Maybe "Slavers' Exile" needs to be added to exits in right block... I'm not sure because entrance is sealed until certain quest is finished.

Moa Birds[edit]

I noticed in one of the pictures that there's a flock of Moa birds here. Their colour is wrong for a pet, but Moa birds are pets. Anyone know if you can tame them? Silavor UserSilavorSigIcon.png 04:58, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

you can't attack or interact with them in any way, so it would only be logical if you can't tame them. - Y0_ich_halt Have a look at my page 14:07, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Little late to respond to this, but the moas on the hill ARE tamable. Silavor UserSilavorSigIcon.png 22:26, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
lol o.O - Y0_ich_halt Have a look at my page 13:55, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
You can tame them? I knew you couldn't attack them though. I bet they are there to slow you down in that race maybe? Or maybe they are un attackable so it's not easy rep points or something. I dunno =S — Eloc 00:57, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

I dont know if you're sposed to be able to attack them or not, I was trying to vanquish the area and I only had 10 left and it wouldn't let me attack the Moa birds, eventually I just gave up, anyone out there who's vanquished this place know?--Ja 00:18, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

You can tame them thats what i got all my hero's when i was bored --TalkWild 12:48, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Vanq[edit]

If you dont already, hug the walls whilst vanqing. There was a group we missed behind someone rock whilst vanqing. We were looking for this group for 45 minutes and starting to wonder whether it was glitched or not because our counter looked full but wasn't. Hugging the bottom wall will find the group easily. 7 sly guys we missed, and amusingly wouldn't of found them if we hadn't decided to split up and him having to answer the door and leaving auto run on, so when he came back and found himself dead he was able to direct me to his position and kill the last group =3 thank god for auto run.

no need to wall hug, just dont miss the path around the "rock" (its more like a mountain) (KILL MementoMori 18:41, 17 April 2009 (UTC))
ty you just saved me heaps of time..... like your name WingsOfExilia 16:35, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
Great Tip. Thanks. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 98.225.1.164 (talk).
I also just missed twice that there is a secret lair of Jotuns in the NE corner, near the exit. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 192.112.251.58 (talk).
I was able to get both the Elder Crocodiles and Jotuns thanks to the comments here. Total count was about ~290 foes in about 50 minutes. It wasn't terribly difficult, however, I wiped once to the Jotuns and some additional hex management is necessary to deal with the Breezrider (Mesmers). Make sure to pull these if at all possible. They can spike pretty hard and patrol into one another, similarly to the Jotuns, so deal with them one group at a time. Overall, pretty standard vanquish.--LunarRXA (talk) 21:18, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

foes[edit]

vanqished the area, only 269 foes if you avoid all pop-ups. I added the number to the mob-range. (KILL MementoMori 14:51, 17 April 2009 (UTC))

Vanquishing[edit]

Its possible to solo vanguish entire zone :D, the sad part is that the drop aren't good, the best drop i get was a elite assassin tome from locked chest--User Max sig.jpg (Max / talk) 00:28, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Oh? --92.24.52.128 16:05, 6 October 2009 (UTC)<----Sam6555 16:13, 6 October 2009 (UTC)(wasn't signed in) :P

Level 8 Moa bird[edit]

Instead of starting a revert war, better ask here: are those non-charmable level 8 Moa Birds considered Charmable animals? I'm not going to remove them again. --NIN37 23:39, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi there NIN, I didn't notice the history, but the level 8 Moas ARE charmable. Here are some pics:

Swordfish56 02:06, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
They are? :O
I had heard they weren't charmable and haven't really had time to test it myself. :X
Usually I double-check stuff before editing a page, but can't really play much Eye of the North due my amazing on-board video card, so, in the short time I was there, I was either running from Quetzals, had no Charm Animal equipped or just completely forgot to release old pet before zoning. :P
My bad. :X
Need to fix Moa Bird page as well (levels 3, 5 and 8 for Prophecies, Menagerie and Eye of the North, respectively).
Gonna check other stuff as well (like which pets still need maps) when I manage to fix my computer. :P --NIN37 04:11, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

omg[edit]

This area is so hard to VQ, was 30 kills in and was heading towards the glass arrow boss first thinking i'd get the toughest out of the way first.....I didn't even get to him and the Quetzal were pwning me. I was using standard sabway along with a critspear build I have been using. Any help/ideas? --Sam6555 10:31, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

Your a paragon right? watch out for the tengu, they mimic your shouts... probably made a bunch of them together quite difficult 65.6.156.101 11:24, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
Nope, i'm a sin, heres the build: Vicious Attack, Harrier's Toss, "Dodge This!", Beguiling Haze, "I Am The Strongest!", Critical Agility, Way of the Master, Critical Eye, 10Shad/13Crit/12Spear
I'm at 985 points on my MotN title, only things I have left to do is VQ Jaga Moraine, Grothmar Wardowns or Verdant Cascades. Groth has lots os charr rangers which hurt, Jaga...idk but Vaettir hurt alot in HM. Idk what to do >< --Sam6555 11:52, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
287 foes, 1hr 5min, vanq/maping. This zone isnt that bad. Spell casters (especially hexes) wont like this zone because of mass hex removal and wind riders interupting everything. Thankfully the only monks on this map are terrible ones. Wind rider groups are deadly with loads of dgen and cry of frustation chains. Hint, even if your doing h/h, send ONE player foward (doesnt matter on profession/skills but just have monk cover them) and have them aggro so only they get all the nasty hexes dumped on them (some would call this tanking...) while the rest of the party quickly nukes them (riders are softies and travel in tightly packed groups). To deal with the tengu since somebody above seemed to have issues, anti-physical and not over aggroing are key, and also note that the tengu mesmers use ineptitude and I thnk skelk necs use an attack speed debuff hex. This zone isnt hard for any team combination, just takes smarts wrather then fancy teams. Justice 22:41, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Moa Pet Dialogue[edit]

Take a Moa bird as your pet and talk to the Purifier Krewe guy by the Quetzal camp. :) Don't know if this would matter: I had a Black Moa. You do have to talk to the guy by the camp to see the Moa dialogue. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:ButeoRegalis (talk).

Note to Vanquishers[edit]

There's a hidden lake filled with level 25 Elder Crocodiles up past the moa birds in case anyone needs to know. I couldn't find out where they were until i checked over near there. 74.97.182.177 01:31, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

Missing Groups?[edit]

Are there any other missing groups besides the one listed in the notes? I've been coming this area for over 45 minutes and an almost-full vanq. counter, and I still can't find the last few enemies. I usually call this LES...Last Enemy Syndrome. This has got to be the worst case of LES that I've ever had. JSYantiss 04:12, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

Vanquish count[edit]

281 foes, 32 minutes. -Chieftain Alex 20:28, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
