About deletion[edit]

This template is part of a larger set of templates (Category:Location navigation templates) which appear on all location pages, including explorable areas, landmarks, missions, towns and outposts. In the case of missions they are mostly redundant because, as Konig Des Todes pointed out, mission pages also have another navigation template listing all the missions in the campaign, as opposed to just the region. Deleting the region-style navigation templates from mission pages would break consistency with the rest of the location pages. But as long as we are okay with that I don't see a problem in doing so. Of course, all 16 templates would have to be deleted, not just this one. User Zeptozoid sig.png Zeptozoid 12:50, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

I was gonna tag the other mission templates, leaving only the campaign one - an alternative, to prevent breaking consistency, would be to delete the campaign ones - less deletion as well. Either way it doesn't matter but one of the two sets need to be removed as it's redundant and only serves to expand the page more. I personally think that the missions-in-campaign would be more helpful, hence why I tagged this for deletion rather than {{Factions missions}}. Konig/talk 21:30, 31 July 2011 (UTC)
I agree, the campaign ones are definitely more useful. User Zeptozoid sig.png Zeptozoid 00:23, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
Missions per each section were there from my understanding to show what missions were in that area. I'm against the removal of each nav. It's not completely redundant and has been in use for years with no problems. So why the issue now? Also, it was placed as per Guild_Wars_Wiki:Formatting/Missions So, I think this needs to be at that talk page. Not here and requested for comments. Else, any removal between the start of this discussion to this message is against the consensus as per that formatting page. 72.148.31.114 06:01, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
It's been redundant for years, but no one pointed that out before. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 06:05, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
Discuss here Guild_Wars_Wiki_talk:Formatting/Missions#Navigation_Templates. It has always been apart of the formatting guide. If you have a problem, discuss it there, before going against already made consensus and getting it all removed, due to "discussions" here that need and have needed to have been there. I hope we all will look to the formatting pages, before making suggestions to templates or the mission pages, etc. Thank you. Kaisha User Kaisha Sig.png 06:19, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
As noted elsewhere, I have never understood the need for duplicate navbar data (navbars are supposed simplify navigation). However, Kaisha has a fair point: the double-nav has been part of the style guidelines for years; it deserves discussion in a more public forum than a template hidden to most wikians. Even though it's a guideline (and not a strict policy), we shouldn't be hasty about removing it...there's no particular rush (the wiki has survived all this time with the redundancy). — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 06:30, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Discussion has been moved to Guild_Wars_Wiki_talk:Formatting/Missions#Navigation_Templates. Please participate there. Kaisha User Kaisha Sig.png 08:35, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

Deletion Restore Request[edit]

This deletion needs to be restored as per Guild_Wars_Wiki:Formatting/Missions. Deletion is against the formatting guideline. Kaisha User Kaisha Sig.png 06:57, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

I request this restoration, because there is no consensus, just two people discussing what to do with the templates, instead of getting the rest of the community involved. Which I have done and is taking place at the above link in the above section (not this section). Kaisha User Kaisha Sig.png 15:18, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
