Healing | None to Low | None to Low |
Support | Medium | Medium |
Damage, Deep Wound, on fire, party damage reduction, party crits, party defense (+AL), party speed boost, party heal, and none of it reliant on an Elite. This allows you to be a strong party leader or supporter as the role is needed plus the last skill slot can be switched out for a lot of different options allowing great versatility with little changes needed.
Attributes and Skills[edit]
Leadership | 10 + 1 + 1 |
Spear Mastery | 8 + 1 |
Command | 9 + 1 |
Tactics | 9 |
Anthem of Flame | "They're on Fire!" | Spear of Lightning | Vicious Attack | "Go for the Eyes!" | "Watch Yourself!" | "Fall Back!" | Optional |
Equipment[edit]
- Max spear of choice.
- Max shield using Tactics or Command.
- Max armor with Centurion's insignias and +1 stat runes as well as the best vigor rune you can afford.
Usage[edit]
- "Fall Back!" can be used to:
- Charge in to the enemy
- Continue running after finishing fighting a mob and heal at the same time
- Escape from battle and heal at the same time
- Help heal/speed teammates being chased/chasing
- Speed you/your group's progress if in a hurry
- Start with Anthem of Flame and "Their on Fire!" following with Spear of Lightning to start building adrenaline, damage your target, add party attack skill burning, and add party defense.
- Vicious Attack is only to be used with "Go for the Eyes!" unless you just want some little damage boost to finish an enemy or being adrenaline drained. The chance of getting a critical hit and Deep Wound is really very good and it works very often. The damage it does in combo with the lessened healing helps to take down a foe much faster and it doesn't take long to build adrenaline either.
- "Watch Yourself!" is used after the Vicious Attack combo above to add defense or energy gain as needed.
- Optional slot:
- An Elite is to be changed out per area/desire or a Signet of Capture or ressurect can be taken if you like.
- Cautery Signet will help remove any conditions (like blind) on yourself or party members (like disease that won't stop spreading or crippled that is slowing your teams progress to the next area).
- Anthem of Guidance Can really help your party take down blocking foes much faster.
- Soldier's Fury, Anthem of Fury, or Focused Anger can help to speed the enemy's demise.
- Defensive Anthem can add significant defense to a party but is energy intesive. Use it sparingly unless energy is flowing well.
- Crippling Anthem to slow your targets escaping or advancing.
- "Incoming!" for a small anti-spike effect.
Counters[edit]
- Blindness
- Adrenaline/Energy drain
- Anti-shout/chant skills
Variants[edit]
Tactics
- Soldier's Stance to add speed to your attacks.
- Protector's Defense to add defense to nearby stationary allies.
- "To the Limit!" to get instant adrenaline.
- "Charge!" to give more speed to your party.
Leadership
- Leader's Comfort for a self heal.
Spear Mastery
- Disrupting Throw to interrupt your deeply wounded or burning target.
No Attribute
- Remedy Signet to remove a condition.
Notes[edit]
- With max armor, a shield, and runes no greater than +1 you won't be a priority target very often which is good since you have no self heal. It's best if you can get in first to take any hits as the enemy will usually run around you to get to the others with less armor and health though.
- Target anything and you do good damage, though targeting the healers first is stll the best idea (in most cases) especially with your deep wound attack to lessen healing.
- Don't spam "Fall Back!" every time it's available. Use it when it's appropriate: charging into battle, running from a battle, running to speed up the travel, healing while moving - usually right after a battle (including if members are being chased and you want to help them but think before doing this). Do not spam in the middle of battle as most team members aren't moving and won't benefit from this and you will have wasted energy.
