Hello, you may see the ipness all over here. i like it and itll stay this way.

Please only edit via THIS EDIT LINK to make it a brighter page! =D

Unfortunately, that is a violation of policy as you can not include formatting in your talk page that restricts how people leave you message. Please remove this. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 21:41, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Greetings[edit]

I would like to invite you to discuss why you would like the note on [1] to remain so we can avoid having a revert war with the other IP. Thanks! Most Japanese Greetings 16:16, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

wiki note[edit]

I said discuss the note first. The constant edits to that page are becoming somewhat of an edit war which is not needed. Some people are claiming that some programs work better, others are claiming they aren't working at all anymore. Do not change the note until some kind of consensus is reached. At the moment, as the note stands its accurate and none committal either way until we have some finite answer. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 00:04, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

affected without a word to is freakingly NOT accurate 128.176.178.20 00:05, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
It is accurate as their is debate as to in which way these programs are being affected, be that detrimentally or beneficially. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 00:07, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
it is not accurate try to lern what that means it is just less wrong if it is wrong at all 128.176.178.20 00:08, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
It is none committal at the moment, thus it's not as accurate as it could be, but as their is dispute at the moment, it's not actually saying one thing or the other, thus meaning that people are not continually changing it to reflect their own views on this. This is a WIKI, we edit by consensus in issues of contention, I hope this helps. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 00:13, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
its okay i just wanted to say that its not accuerat :P 128.176.178.20 00:15, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

This is a registered user and with you being one. can you change your user page? j/c -- User Ariyen sig icon.gifriyen 00:59, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
See if you changed your user page. People wouldn't think it was unregistered. Same with talk page. This is only intended for Unregistered users. -- User Ariyen sig icon.gifriyen 01:10, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
its a test of wittiness i think many admins here dont earn their place i also prefer this because i am a groupie of some one and dont want to be mocked 128.176.178.20 01:12, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

i like my user paeg its my style i dont threat you for your eye blight of a page please your freaking policies to not edit user pges 128.176.178.20 01:19, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
oh and im not screwin with people people are screwing with my only because i am like my hero likes me 128.176.178.20 01:19, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
Ari knows that now, and is suggesting that the current content of the page is intended only for use by unregistered users, and thus it's improprietary for the IP to make it so. I disagree; it's a user page. When have we restricted non-offensive, wiki-permitted choices on user pages? Also, 128, meet your forebear. :/ | 72 User Seventy two Truly Random.jpg (U|T|C) 01:20, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) Nah, you're screwing with people. You can deny that you're doing it intentionally, but you can't deny the fact that people are going "Woooooooaaaaaaahhh, an IP with a userpage. +DELETE" --User Ezekial Riddle silverbluesig.pngRID DLE 01:22, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
72, there is a precedence with a user who wanted a "you have new messages" banner on his userpage. That was deemed to be disruptive. --JonTheMon 14:53, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

128, please respect the content wiki uses for unregistered accounts and not make that your own. It just confuses people. -- User Ariyen sig icon.gifriyen 01:25, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
ariyen you just feel stupid for being fooled. get over it. 194.44.18.83 01:34, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
Mm, nope, don't feel stupid. I don't hide behind my ip either, unless I forget to login. Don't you feel silly hiding behind numbers? -- User Ariyen sig icon.gifriyen 01:39, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
my ip is out in the open. look me up. if anything, im more exposed than you. 194.44.18.83 01:46, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
"Ariyen" tells us a lot less about a person than, say, a code leading us to the area they live in. But anyway, if his page is functionally the same as an IP's, and he acts like an IP, why insist he put some other content on his page than a notice that he's a random guy? That notice is in effect for every IP on this wiki and frankly is the best description of this guy for wiki purposes. | 72 User Seventy two Truly Random.jpg (U|T|C) 02:01, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
Actually, IPs are more apt of being hacked into. Course you can find anyone by the information they give, not just location and ip, etc. Location doesn't tell quite so much about a person. Creativity, etc. tells more. -- User Ariyen sig icon.gifriyen 02:09, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
Not if we're using the same definition of "tell about", where you first used it to mean "divulge information about" and so did I and then you changed it to mean "give interesting character to"... but I digress... _-_ | 72 User Seventy two Truly Random.jpg (U|T|C) 03:31, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

You totally win. Misery 11:40, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Amusing, the fact that I most often comment with add new section kind of screws with your note thing. Misery 11:41, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
Yeah champ, I can tell you already, that ain't gonna fly. It makes it hard for people to edit existing comments and harder for people to add new sections. People will spazz. Good luck though. Misery 14:35, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
As miz said, people will spazz. The wee blurb is a hinderence to normal usage of the page, thus unless you can come up with some way other than manually moving the thing every-time someone edits, I don't think the wee blurb will be able to stay. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 17:27, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

And here comes the spazz. Told ya bro. Misery 18:05, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

i think i saw a way on User talk:Wynthyst can someone do that? i dont understand that code 128.176.178.20 18:24, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
There is no way to place a template permanently on the bottom of your talk page. Sorry. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 21:37, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Leaving talk page messages[edit]

This way ain't gonna work very well. --JonTheMon 14:50, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Since your userpage has been repeatedly mistaken for being an unregistered user's, and the userpage policy recognises unregistered userpages to be different to registered userpages, I recommend you change your signature to better reflect you're not actually unregistered, and also your talk page text (the above notice) as that's just plain misleading and disrupts the addition of new sections.

If anything, it'll stop people hassling you and your userpage for various reasons. It might also help other people. -- pling User Pling sig.png 17:29, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

how about no? 128.176.178.20 17:57, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Body link[edit]

Yeh that's not gonna happen. Your talk page is owned by the community and as such should function the same way every other talk page works. Yours is not an exception. Thus I wish you luck with working out a way to make the wee blurb automatically reassert itself at the bottom but your current solution is not acceptable and is in fact an even bigger hinderence to editing by users. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 17:30, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

yes im looking for other sulotions but i cant edit 24/7 128.176.178.20 17:57, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Computer/IP[edit]

Before I spiral discussion off topic elsewhere: Does the IP in question belong to a public computer, I.E. a library computer, campus computer, or what-have-you; or is it a more personal computer, I.E. work or home computer? — Jon User Jon Lupen Sig Image.png Lupen 20:56, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Just so you know mate[edit]

If you want to keep your old contributions, it may be possible for you to make a new account and merge the contributions from the IP address you were using into your new account. Then if you simply always log in, everything gets associated with you. It may not be the perfect situation for you and I do not really understand why this has come up as it has, but it has. User:71.229 and User:000 00 00 00 might give you some ideas of what people find acceptable in a user name that is similar to an IP, while keeping the feel of what you were going for here. I would consider 127.0.0.1 to be an excellent choice, because anyone who mistakes that for an actual IP deserves what they get, but I don't know if everyone would agree with me. It sounds like you have just had enough, which would be a pity, but hopefully you can come to a solution that everyone can end up happy with. Misery 23:05, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

I don't believe we can merge contributions from IP addresses Mis, that was already looked into by someone else, but ask Poke to make sure. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 23:08, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
Yes, it appears it is not possible, should have done my homework, but at least the contributions from this account could be transferred to any new account that was made. Misery 23:09, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
