Suggestion of interest[edit]

FYITennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 22:02, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks. I have to say though that the current system does not bother me that much. This is (for example) much more important to me. –User ARTy sig.png 20:48, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
Oh? Well, I suppose on the whole, I'm more annoyed by other things. This situation seems...unjustifiably inattentive to details of the game. The thing that always prevented me from being interested in AD&D computer games was that they followed AD&D rule sets...which also struck me as arbitrary and capricious.
Anyhow, thanks for taking the time to post. (FYI I wouldn't take it amiss if you mentioned your lack of interest on the suggestion's talk page.) – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 21:10, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Minions! Oh my![edit]

Nice job on the minions. The research looks very thorough and I appreciate you taking the time to follow it up by updating the various minion articles. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 23:48, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me now that.
Btw: I hate my linguistic bloopers I tend to spread from time to time. As you might have noticed (:P) I am quite analytic, a pretty brain-focussed type so to say. Though I also really like language in general and enjoy eloquence in German, I simply can't achieve in English what I'd like to. Especially when I screw up basics because I payed more attention to improved/varied vocabulary that moment and I notice it two days later or so, it drives me nuts :/ –User ARTy sig.png 00:09, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
Eh, that's mostly how people learn languages: try stuff out, make mistakes, and hope someone points out the error of our ways. (The nice thing about the wiki, Deutsch or English, is that there are plenty of ppls here who can build on one's original source to make it more accessible to more people. That's important regardless of the eloquence of the author: even the best writers need a good editor.) – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 00:41, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
I kind of know that, but though I hate to feel that "handicapped" – partially demoted to kindergarten. But that's me and I'm used to it, with my "not only thinking things through but rather dead" way to spend every day, while not even aiming for it.
However, to get more productive again: Here is some more game mechanic research, you probably noticed it already. This is what I made of it in German, you might get a helpful impression of it. I think this passage is the only part where this topic is described and that one could need a rework I think. I prefer to present data rather shortened, but this wiki has some huge tables in some articles (I think I read somewhere that you don't like them either). The equation should get an update, but what else? Any suggestions, or better to ask: Any questions concerning the research or the results, since discussing that could help. –User ARTy sig.png 01:11, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
And I just commented out a part at the german article, since the "edges" like lvl 20 vs. 1 don't really fit. I could ask Judge, he might be interested and have some ideas... –User ARTy sig.png 01:31, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

Special Thanks[edit]

A great thank you for the informations you gave me ! Those proved to be really precious and i was able to get several other black spots thanks to the trick. However you told me you managed to go past the south gate of the fortress of Jahai but were blocked with another gate : did I misunderstand ? Did you know there's a way to do the trick several times ? Anyway, thanks again for your time and contributions to the mod ;)--Ruine Eternelle (talk) 13:07, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

With the necro corpse teleports you were able to get past the south gate, but there is an invisible wall immediately after it, so there was no use for it. From what I remember, the black spot is not from entering from the south, but was discovered when coming from the north (so the annotation in the mod is wrong, as you wrote in your planned changes already). --aRTy 17:29, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
Okay, a shame we cannot try autominion trick it :/ About the way to get the part near the Fortress, I tried it personnally and the mod has been updated, along with several new parts I've found with my tests in Ruins of Surmia and Gandara. The one in Ruins of Surmia is the only one I know in prophecies so far.
Just a random thought, but I guess we all would benefit if pages like Closed Gate or Locked Gate existed. Lohaf (talk) 19:46, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
This is a bit difficult, as there are too many different types of gates. The minion trickable property seems to be linked to the gate's skin, but nothing is for sure. Since it can be done with a barricade in Doomlore Shrine, you may also be able to do this trick with other things than a gate, like a fence or a hedge, or even a wall. This is also similar to portal jump in a way since you cannot really know about a gate being minion trickable for sure until someone manage to cross it. But assuming it is skin-dependant indeed a page listing all skins of gates may clear things up for us and any other interested player in doing research about it.--Ruine Eternelle (talk) 20:50, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
Damn 2015, time sure flies. I remembered that you were interested in EOTN cartography and Azura just found this sliver :

I don't have much time to check, but maybe it can help reach the threshold you were looking for to skip something. --Ruine User Ruine Eternelle Ruine Eternelle.jpg Eternelle 15:10, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

Thank you. Both the top right black spot and the bottom left black spot are not in the screenshots I took of my map years ago for the thread I made about my project back then. I'm not certain whether they are actually still missing, I found some more afterwards, but at least the top right spot feels new to me. I'll check ingame at some point. Is there anything special to note on how to get it/them? --User ARTy sig.png 16:07, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
The top right spot can be uncovered by a portal jump from Arbor Bay to Riven Earth (or during Zinn's Trial). It just needs precise wall hugging to get it. The same is true for the bottom left piece, but you do not need a portal jump here. Just hug the wall in a small dead end area east of Arachni's Haunt. Greetings, Azura (talk) 16:16, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
Got it during Zinn's Trial. Took a while scraping the wall, but the piece finally popped on a seemingly smooth part of the wall, roughly here:

Zehtuka's Pack (question)[edit]

Hello, I just saw that you updated the page of the item with the map, I appreciate it, thank you very much. One question please, do you remember how many attempts it took to appear? —Scribeton (talk) 13:09, 12 January 2021 (UTC)

I didn't keep track of the exact number. The runs I made took very close to 1 minute each, because the exact position wasn't fully confirmed before and so I checked down to Vah the Crafty (and opened chests on the way). I used a hero with "Make Haste!", Enduring Harmony and Vocal Was Sogolon to cover the longer distance efficiently, it's probably not that useful if you are only checking the bag spot though. I did this over several days and for several hours each, so it took hundreds of attempts. --User ARTy sig.png 17:59, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
Understood, thanks! —Scribeton (talk) 23:29, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
