Confusion and Questions[edit]

How did that happen? :p --User Oneshot O.JPGneshot. 18:51, 11 October 2010.

I'm actually not telling yet; going to give people a bit of time to find the page first. Although, I will be uploading a video in the next few days since photos are way to easy to forge.... Blood Red Giant User Blood Red Giant sig.jpg Mani Mortus 18:59, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
how the hell do you have that sythe and an elite then? --Nick123 User Nick123 sig.jpg 19:00, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
Well, the scythe and the elite are due to my Guild Hall having a Xunlai chest (see the 4th pic). The scythe was a simple transfer, and the elite came from a tome. Same with the skill Pious Haste. The difficulty was more the r1 survivor. >< Blood Red Giant User Blood Red Giant sig.jpg Mani Mortus 19:04, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
Would this be like the lvl 1 derv and necro in Augury rock? Demonic Fahrir talk 19:06, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
Quite the opposite, in reality. And personally, I find the level 1 in the Ring of Fire to be more impressive. :P Blood Red Giant User Blood Red Giant sig.jpg Mani Mortus 19:08, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
figured this out you got it by grinding the starter guys that are there and probably used scrolls and abused the henchmen/ferrying guys from your guild hall.User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 22:32, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
I'd suggest testing your theory. Blood Red Giant User Blood Red Giant sig.jpg Mani Mortus 23:39, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
i did and it works.-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 00:00, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
What in particular? Bringing henchmen in? That doesn't seem to help. Grinding starter guys? That gets you to level 7. Ferrying guys? Depends on quite a few circumstances as to whether that will work. So, what plan did you test for in order to get level 20 survivor in the tutorial? Blood Red Giant User Blood Red Giant sig.jpg Mani Mortus 00:35, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

all of the above you probably got someone to death lvl the guys and then got the xp from the kills. not that hard to figure out dude stop asking questions like its some huge mystery-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 00:54, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Since I know for a fact that a normal character can't get ferried back to the tutorial, I call bull. Blood Red Giant User Blood Red Giant sig.jpg Mani Mortus 01:02, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
well i just did it with a friend a few mins ago i think they have to be nighfall born.-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 01:47, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Then both you and your friend had just started the campaign. Which, of course, makes this possible with the use of 3 accounts, two reuseable rez's, and spending 300+ hours *non-afk* death leveling. But no, that's not the way to do this. >< Blood Red Giant User Blood Red Giant sig.jpg Mani Mortus 01:58, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
Oh, and that 300+ hours assumes you're using ~250+ lb scrolls.... Blood Red Giant User Blood Red Giant sig.jpg Mani Mortus 01:59, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
One way this could have been done (not getting into if this was the way it was done), is from an old bug about 14 months ago which allowed people to jump others in their party to places they hadn't been. Was a guildhall map travel trick that DIDN'T unlock the wee boat. All 1 would need is access to their guildhall and a friend to warp you to one of the many existing survivor farming spots. (for example the skele farm over halloween) or even the punch out tournament. All you would need is to of created a toon while this bug existed, jump to your guildhall, get a guildie who had been to an outpost you want to go too, map travel you there and then farm survivor in one of the many established ways. (again not saying this is how it was done, but the method did exist and was possible) For example my mesmer has Razer and hero of elona, yet he has no other heros aside from Razer and hasn't done anything in elona except for jump to the last mission and beat Abaddon. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 00:46, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Is it possible that some skill was used to create higher level enemies to grind on? For example, bringing another player in and having them create minions before killing themselves and allowing the minions to run wild? Of course, to get high level minions, the other player would also have to level up a bit for attribute points, but it wouldn't take nearly as long as the death-levelling method. – NuclearDuckie 11:41, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Am i getting warmer by guessing you use your allies as death level puppets? I have no idea if or how that would work. It just came to my mind. - J.P.User J.P. sigicon.pngTalk 00:42, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

this is either fake or your on test krewe and haxed the game that way. are you going to reveal your secrets or what?-User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 04:14, 26 November 2010 (UTC)
Sorry I disappeared for a while. My rl has a nasty habit of getting in the way of my gaming life. >< The explanation is long past due, so I'll write up a tutorial and put it on the wiki within a week. As for questions since I've been gone:
I have always wished I knew about that bug *before* it was fixed (would have made for some interesting projects), but this particular project was done after the bug was fixed. On a minor note, minions don't give experience and pets only give experience on the first death (heroes don't appear to give experience at all), thus all death leveling must be done by a human. Yes, a single character on another account was used as fodder for the death leveling. I'm not on the test krewe (although, I wish I was), and I wouldn't hack the game client or the server if I even knew how. Finally, yes, I will "reveal [my] secrets", but as my gf is in town, it's going to take a couple days to find the time. In the meantime, if you have any more guesses before I put up the tutorial, I'll try to respond relatively quickly. Happy Thanksgiving. :D Blood Red Giant User Blood Red Giant sig.jpg Mani Mortus 19:18, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
What about the quest reward – is that of any use? Also, is there a particular reason for this to be done in the Nightfall tutorial and not the Factions one? – NuclearDuckie 15:10, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Never mind; accepting the reward kicks you out of the tutorial area. – NuclearDuckie 02:12, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
Hello there. – NuclearDuckie 11:58, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

On a Side Note[edit]

I do find it interesting that you can bring Guild Hall henchmen into the tutorial area. Not particularly useful for getting level 20 survivor, but would help in trying to get that extra bit of exploration with a min. exp. character.
