Hey, there -- Brains12Talk 16:13, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm surprised Brains shirked off his duty as an admin to uphold all policies and to restore CA's removed comment. Wow. But don't think that mans I want that there, because I'll take it off is it's restored. Calor (t) 18:02, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Well... using my ultraspecialuberleetpower called discretion there, I didn't restore the comment seeing as it's not a policy warning, notice etc and no harm done if you choose to "censor" it. I wouldn't have reverted it as a non-admin, either. That's not to say I'm endorsing this. -- Brains12Talk 18:10, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Eloc will come along and restore it soon enough :p Calor (t) 18:11, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Heh, it was only one. Thanks for cleaning up the Xtera mess. Calor (t) 02:56, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
No problem, I thought I had the correct user at first, then realized they didn't have a page in their actual userspace, which caused me to find 5+ pages in the wrong spot. =p Rappy 03:01, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
I made the same mistake, then I checked RC and all the pages and uploaded images, and kinda figured it was one user, six accounts, and a jumbled mess. Calor (t) 03:07, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Radiation Field

mines too. i give informations even myself would have need not so long ago. if you too can't think for someone else than yourself : fuck. i leave the page radiation field, and if you don't want to give information either, what's the point about being here on gwiki ? lussh 20:47, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

I reverted myself after a conversation on IRC with Anja. There was strong favor on the talk page for not having the note, regardless of your beliefs. We could have either no note pertaining to that topic, or forty notes on all the possibilities. And if players want to figure some obscure combination, then they should go to the Condition page and check the degeneration amount and methods of application for various conditions. It contains the note for now, but I assume this will re-spark the debate on the talk page over there. Calor (t) 20:51, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Lussh, consensus doesn't mean your personal view on things, it is the general view of the community. The talk page has shown that the general consensus is that the note is not needed. Unless Mathematics has been taken off of every school's syllabi, it is not hard to do a sum to find how long the disease duration is in effect after the skill has recharged, and how long the hex will stay combined with the disease. -- Brains12Talk 20:57, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm entering high school in a few months and we haven't had new material in four years..so I guess it has. But Lussh, you can't be some sort of freelance editor who disregards consensus, because the entire community as a whole is likely correct, instead of one person. Calor (t) 21:03, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

sorry i don't think about what you think and know, i think about who'll need quick informations and tips. but do what you want, as i said, i leave this page. It seems to be hard to think that others may not be you and do the best for them, not what pleases you. lussh 21:05, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

What pleases the wiki community is informing players. What doesn't please the community is filling the page of a skill with dozens of useless, obscure notes, as would have to be the result if your note was added. Calor (t) 21:25, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

oh my, it's hopeless. lussh 21:30, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Hopefully the note there now will please us all? -- Brains12Talk 22:00, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm great with it. You, Lussh? Calor (t) 22:23, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the clarification

Hey Calor

I'd just like to say a quick thanks- i've been a user of the wiki for years, but only recently made my account. I had no idea that the (staff? contributors? do you get paid? :P) took such care and commitment to its golden pages. I'll make sure not to delete my comments, i realize that they could probably help others not to do the same thing i did :P I hope that i'm not causing any dischord because of all the mistakes i've been making! I appreciate all the help and i'll try to keep in

AegisEdesia 22:33, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

For the record, no. We don't get paid, and Calor isn't an administrator =P He's just a regular user like you, though he does seem to make quite a lot of excellent contributions. Yay. MisterPepe talk 22:34, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
In my dreams I'd be paid, ANet is the 'staff', and hopefully I'll be an administrator some time in the future. And everyone makes those elementary mistakes; they hardly cause 'discord'. Calor (t) 22:37, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Getting paid to wiki would totally rock. MisterPepe talk 22:38, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
50 cents per press of F5. That'd get me about two hundred dollars per hour, at least. Calor (t) 22:40, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Speedy

Just wanted to let you know, clearing a page that you are the sole editor of doesn't qualify for speedy deletion (unless the page is less than one day old) -- Brains12Talk 20:08, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

I didn't clear it and i wasn't an editor (minus the delete tag), some member of that guild did. But thanks, I wasn't sure how the rule for blanking and speedy delete worked. Calor (t) 20:17, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, sorry, I meant "you" as in a generic "you" that blanked a page. -- Brains12Talk 20:18, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
Oh, no problem. Thanks anyways. Calor (t) 20:19, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

"Americanized"

Please don't "fix" what's not broken. See the discussion of the (failed) policy proposal Guild Wars Wiki:Use American English. This is an international wiki, not an American one. If you disagree with that, please revive the policy and lets have a discussion about it there. Until then, please don't go out "Americanizing" anything, as it's unwarranted. Thanks. --Dirigible 15:22, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Ah, sure. To be honest, I didn't even know that rejected policy existed. Calor (t) 17:17, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Unsigned Mistake

The unsigned comment in the scams discussion page was there before I edited it. You'll have to continue your search for a different member to pin that comment on ;) Cheers! Natso 21:05, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

I do things too hastily, now don't I? I'll go take a look. Calor (t) 21:11, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I just found it. It was an IP. I looked at the history before and naturally assumed "Most recent in history = Last comment down" Calor (t) 21:13, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
It's fine, lol. I probably would have made the same mistake in haste as well ^_^ Natso 01:30, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

sorry bout that Calor, new to editing on wiki, still getting used to the idea of creating a new page by making a link to it first.

Drypedyx 23:35, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Heh, no problem. People have made far uglier mistakes, and almost every new user makes some sort of mistake. Calor (t) 23:37, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

You told me that I was causing a revert war, what is that? (from anonymous)

Hi

HI CALOR!!! 67.52.214.40 01:32, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

HI CALOR!!! 89.112.2.176 01:34, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Hello, Calor. — Skadiddly[슴Mc슴]Diddles 01:38, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Hey Skakid. Anons get on my nerves, especially those that do the same actions on different IP's suggesting they have access to an open proxy, which no normal joe needs, which implies that they are a user with a rather malicious intent. Or maybe it's just me on a late evening in a stressful week after a vandalism streak that really pissed me off. Either way, I'm not exactly fond of anons right now. Calor (t) 01:40, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
That was no normal anon attack, they had good knowledge of the wiki, I mean changing {{tl}} so the flood would show up on multiple pages at once. — Rappy 02:11, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Mhm. And then a load of pasting. Calor (t) 02:14, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
I didn't even notice {{guild}} (looked farther down RC) this was the same guy hitting Gaile Gray's page earlier, up until the page was protected. Then he started hitting Random Page and kept Brains, myself and others constantly reverting random pages =\ — Rappy 02:20, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Userpage

In my browser (Firefox) your content box is all below the userbox column, and the userboxes moves outside the box, so to speak. Was this maybe intended? :P - anja talk 21:42, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

No lol. I'm on Firefox, too, and it looks perfectly fine for me. Calor (t) 21:43, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
I get the same as Anja. -- Brains12Talk 21:44, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Sigh..Ah well. So the main left-hand box is below the right-hand thin Userbox box, correct? Calor (t) 21:45, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm using IE and I get the userboxes outside the box causing horizontal scrolling. Not sure what Anja means about the content box but I noticed the last line of the thanks section is half in the blue box half out; could be what she means. --Kakarot Talk 21:48, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) You may need to sort out your floating code. -- Brains12Talk 21:48, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
I figured it was the float, and for Kakarot I'll probably do something with overflow. If either of you three get bored, feel free to edit it so it looks right on your browser(s), considering it looks fine for me Calor (t) 21:51, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
I tried something in my sandbox, and that looks fine for me. No overflow or shortage of background.-- Brains12Talk 21:58, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
I took a look at it. No overflow for me, but a bit of a gap. Ah well, I'll live with it. Calor (t) 21:59, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
And I saw what else you did, and I totally agree. *Goes searching for more* Calor (t) 22:01, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Not sure if you all are talking about the same, but at low resolutions the bottom of the page get mixed with the categories list... may i suggest changing the height limit to something like 100% instead of 800px?.--Fighterdoken 22:01, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) What else did I do?-- Brains12Talk 22:02, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
I have all afternoon/evening, so I'll screw around wit the code and take everyone's problems into consideration. Calor (t) 22:03, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
@Fighterdoken - using 100% for the height causes the content and userboxes to no longer line up which is I assume what Calor wants. Using either 810px or 815px for the height looks good though. --Kakarot Talk 22:09, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
It is what I want, but I won't die without that. In my sandbox I've screwed around with that code a bit. Calor (t) 22:10, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Umm looking at the code, you have the div for 20% on the user boxes floated right. The problem with that, is that's a literal right and it overflows. Since the userboxes are left aligned inside the div, if you change the right-floated div to 23% it increases the size of the div and effectively moves your users boxes far enough to the left to allow for them to end before the end of the 100% div. Hope that helps. — Rappy 22:36, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

In the sandbox? I see no problems on Firefox 1440 by whatever resolution. But eh, before I put anything else on my userpage I'll see everything here and check for problems. Calor (t) 22:41, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
User:Anja Astor/Sandbox/Calor. That's how I would do it, not saying it's the best solution. - anja talk 22:45, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
It looks good. I don't see any glaring errors, but then again I haven't the whole time. Calor (t) 22:46, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Agreed, that's probably the best solution (anja's), but he admitted to not wanting the white space between the two. In FF 1280x1024 it clips for me. I assume on smaller resolutions it would clip more. — Rappy 22:49, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Hmm, no white space. I can do that. I think. *feels challenged* - anja talk 22:50, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Anja, no need to worry about everyone else. Go have fun doing old updates or something :p. I can live with the white space in exchange for the page looking fairly good for everyone else. Calor (t) 22:52, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Uhm, sorry for intruding. But I'm bored and user pages are fun. :P *goes to fix old updates* - anja talk 23:00, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Lol, it's helping. And, errmm...enjoy? Calor (t) 23:01, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Just a suggestion but for your navbar on this page it might look better if you change the background colour from cadetblue to powderblue. Partly so it fits in with the colour scheme of your user page but also because the present one is a bit hard on the eyes to look at. --Kakarot Talk 02:47, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

armor icons naming

hi, sry for disturbing you, but as i know that you wanted to upload several images - and i really embrace this - Bex says the armor icon naming is still incorrect, so i wanted to note this on your talk page before you start uploading your images under wrong naming, as i still don't use the adjusted name for the icons. So, instead of
"Image:Ranger Elite Druid chest m icon.png"
, it should rather be
"Image:Ranger Elite Druid Vest m.png"
(in other words, the image should consist of the armor piece name in the first part, and the gender (letter) in the second. As this piece is written big ingame and counts as proper name, all except the gender has to be written with caps. Finally, consider that some pieces use other names than shown in the tables of the corresponding armor page, e.g. Scar Pattern armor or Tatoos...) —ZerphatalkThe Improver 14:43, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Alright. I don't have any icons saved, but I have an idea of where they are, and then I'll need to do some referencing to see what armor type it is, and if it has already been uploaded from the .dat. But anyways, thanks, now I have a little easily-accessible cheat sheet for when I do get around to uploading some icons from the .dat. Calor (t) 19:35, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
