User talk:Gypsy Moira
Hello Moira, one or more of the images you have recently uploaded have not been named properly as per our image policy. This states that images that are uploaded for use in the User namespace need to be named in the following format: User <User name> <short description>.<file extention>
. For example, User Gyspy Moira character.jpg
. Also, please remember to enter User image (and screenshot if applicable) in the Summary field. Thanks. -- Brains12 \ Talk 16:28, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
- Image:Gw02632.jpg will also need to be reuploaded to match the naming convention. For future user images, it would be best if you named them properly the first time to save further reuploading later on :) -- Brains12 \ Talk 18:56, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
About the message you left on the image pages - you'll need to change the "character" part of the naming thing, so you can change it to a character name or something for each individual image. The only thing that has to be in the name is "User Gyspy Moira". If you need any more help, just put a message on this page. -- Brains12 \ Talk 14:26, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Can you put in here how to do that? because I tried changing the file name to example "Dealist Angel" or "Gyspy Moria" but then when I reupload it still goes to Image:Deadlist Angel or Image:Gyspy Moira then it says in description box says error. Sorry this is my first time making a page help.
- You have to upload it as if it was a new image, so go to Upload file on the left navbar, and select your image. In the "Destination Filename" field, enter in
User Gyspy Moira Deadlist Angel.jpg
for example. In the "Summary" box, enter in user image. Don't worry about the old, incorrect images, they will be deleted by an admin. -- Brains12 \ Talk 15:36, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Can you check and see if I did Gyspy Moira right I just copied the User Gyspy Moira Gyspy Moira.jpg I think I got it now.
Thank you very much Brains :D you have been a big help!! Have a great day
Page Template[edit]
Just as an aside matey, it might be an idea to give User:Lensor credit on your userpage somewhere for using her userpage template. As its good wiki-etiquette to do so. Its a very popular page layout, so alot of people find it hard to work out the original creator. It's also been adapted so much now by people that arguably its a conglomerate work, however Lensor is the originator of it all.If you like, I made a wee user box (included below) which you can use to thank people who inspire your user page, hope it helps. -- Salome 02:12, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
The ever fabulous user page of Lensor, helped inspire and structure this user page. |
Page inclusion[edit]
Hi, I noticed your character pages and noticed that you repeated the same navbar code in all of your character pages. You could actually just cut the navbar code and put it into another page, for example User:Gyspy Moira/Navbar, and then you can have all your other pages included that page by typing . That way, whenever your navbar changes, you only need to edit one page. Hope that helps. -- ab.er.rant 07:01, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
hi not sure I understand make a new page? and then put User:Gyspy Moira/Navbar??? New to making wiki pages --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Gyspy Moira (talk).
- Hmm... I'll help you edit them then you'll understand better. If you don't like it, let me know and I'll revert them. Also, you'll find Help:Signatures to be helpful ;) -- ab.er.rant 14:55, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- Done :) If you take a look at all your character pages, you'll notice that the block of repeated wiki code at the top has been replaced with

. That causes the page to add in the contents of User:Gyspy Moira/Navbar into the page you're viewing (that is, page inclusion). This way, whenever you need to edit your navbar, you only need to edit that one page, and the changes will be seen in all the pages that includes it. No more needing to perform the same edit across all your character pages :)

- A few more things... One is that my edit removed the blank space between the navbar and the character table. If you want to put in a space, add clear to the bottom of the navbar page. Also, I noticed that you have created non-existent links like
Monk, any
. It should beMonk, any
instead. And it's Kamadan :) Lastly, you can probably turn the userboxes at the bottom into a separate page and include it as well ;)

Thank you for correcting this problem, and the pages look good :P I had no idea what you were talking at first. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Gyspy Moira (talk).
- It was really a problem :) it's just something that makes it easier to maintain. Anyways, do get in the habit of signing all your talk page comments, it makes it easier to identify the speaker. See Help:Signatures and GWW:SIGN for more details. Thanks. -- ab.er.rant 02:33, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
User page size[edit]
Heya Gypsy Moira! I see you've been working on your user page. Did you know you can use the Show Preview button to see how it's going to look prior to actually saving it? Also, when you make small changes, it's often better to select This is a minor edit box above the Save page button. Many users that watch the Recent changes page have minor edits hidden thus your small changes would not show up. Also, the User page policy limits the size of the main user page to 300k, yours is almost 500k. I would suggets moving your character information to a subpage, or remove some of the images. -- Wynthyst 06:09, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Thank you Wynthyst for letting me know about this. I removed some of the second images I had, because I was not sure about a sub page. If the images being removed didnt help please let me know and I will try and make a sub page but am not sure how to do it. Thanks Gyspy Moira
Blanking guild pages[edit]
If your guild has disbanded, please place a reason tag on it, indicating the reason you wish the page to be deleted. Thanks!-- Wynthyst 14:24, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Show preview[edit]
Could you please use the Show preview button when you are making small changes and only save when you have everything looking the way you want it? This reduces the number of entries on the page history, as well as minimizes the entries on Recent changes that is monitored by many. Thanks! -- Wyn 05:13, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Wynthyst I am sorry been having a hard time with the Cape image, I can't upload a new one or change it I forgot about the preview I will start using it thanks, if you could help with the cap image thanks. Gyspy Moira 05:23, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- Let me take a look. The image cache has been taking up to 48 hrs to clear updated images, so have some patience if you have tried to upload a new version. -- Wyn 05:28, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- Is this what you wanted? Guild:Angelic_Halo -- Wyn 05:41, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

User Merge[edit]
was wondering you can move my other pages Mystic Death Angelj, Hecate Perseis, Heavenly Anahita, Deadlist Angel, Pele Kahiki, Dark Destinyj, Aphrodite Cyprus, Athena Athenaia, Callisto Artos to the User:Gypsy Moira please. Name changed to the correct spelling. Gyspy MoiraGypsy Moira
- Right. before a bureaucrat can move the pages there, you should create the user "User:Gypsy Moira", then go to the Guild Wars Wiki:Requests for user merge page, and then create a new request on that page, sign with both accounts - and the bureaucrat can do the pagemoving for you.
- P.S. Any user can see your subpages via Special:PrefixIndex. (I can see you have 18 pages needing moving.) --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 15:27, 19 October 2011 (UTC)

- Ok, have you created a second account with the name "Gypsy Moira"? need to do that first. --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 18:31, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
