User Page

Hey, Nick. My name's Vorith, and I'm a Helper here on Guild Wars Wiki. I noticed your question on HELP:GWW and was wondering if I could have some more information about exactly what kind of content you want on your page. There are many good templates on the wiki that can help you spruce up your page. It really just depends on how much you want to put on your page, and personal taste. For example, I like to keep my page pretty simplistic, whereas some people prefer more decorative layouts. Any ideas? --orith is so fail 21:33, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

thanks vorith im trying to get my page looking nice becuase i try running events for big alliance and in la and places like that so i just wanted i good page so people will notice it and i dont know how u do that. im trying to get a like more complicated page im willing to put in the time just to make it look good --Nick123 16:48, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Okay, so you found one you like. I can go ahead and set up your page now, and I'll just post here with the pages you need to edit. I like that template, it's nice. Okay, there you go. These are the pages you'll need to know so you can put your own content in:

• User:Nick123 - You shouldn't ever have to edit this one, your actual userpage just pulls content in from the other pages.
• User:Nick123/User Boxes - Your user boxes go here. If you need any help adding user boxes, just let me know, they're inside a table so you have to add some stuff in between each box to make them display properly.
• User:Nick123/About Me - This is the main content of your page. Put whatever you want here.
• User:Nick123/Character Box - If you want to list your characters, you can do it here. There's some stuff you can do to make this look fancy if you want to.
• User:Nick123/Nav - Should you need to add anything to the navigation bar at under the lizard or change the picture, this is the page you would need to edit. This page isn't quite as easy to edit as the others, though, so you might want to consider contacting a Helper to do this for you.

It's pretty simple, it's all controlled by tables. The syntax is like this:

| [ USERBOX TEMPLATE ]
|- [ USERBOX TEMPLATE ]
|- [ USERBOX TEMPLATE ]
|}
|}

You just make sure that all the userbox templates have that |- in front of them, and that there are two |} at the end, on separate lines. Then jsut stick that under the big header thing on the User Boxes page, and it should display properly. The part that goes in [ USERBOX TEMPLATE ] should look something like {{Userbox|other stuff}}. You can generally find that part in the usage section on the template page, like at Template:User Male. --orith is so fail 22:10, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
