- Ok... 000.00.00.00 22:02, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
How many hours . . .
. . .do the dev's and support teams currently make for GW(2). 70 -75 hours a week? --Silverleaf 17:41, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
- Per person? o.o I'm quite certain they've got a 40-hour work week. Of course they're also on salary too... so some stay longer... Regina is very dedicated on some nights. Vael Victus 21:38, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
- Have seen a documentary a long time ago....hard workers and long hours for Dev's. Still curious with the deadline approaching. --Silverleaf 22:01, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
- I would imagine they'd be 9-5. Deadline approaching? Considering there is no deadline to Guild Wars 2 [as far as we know since the whole "When it's finished."] I wouldn't say they'd be totally rushed off their feet. They're in the office-space environment just like many of us, but, like many of us, they'd probably take work home or work late if they wanted. [shrugs]. 000.00.00.00 20:30, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- I don't claim to be an expert but I suspect devs are salaried employees so I'm certain they often put in more hours way beyond 40 hours per week. – Barinthus 22:16, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- Depends. That kind of thing used to be endemic in the games industry; it might be a bit less common now, but common it still is. It isn't really a good thing in the long term though. -- Sirius (talk) 22:45, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- Considering one of the things ArenaNet says is a well balanced work/life schedule, I highly doubt they do crunch time except towards the very end of the development cycle for each game, and only for a short period of time.

- We work 40 hours a week. Most people are in the office between 8am - 11am and they leave between 6pm - 8pm. I get here typically between 8am - 9am and my day ends between 5pm and 6pm. I try to get here at 830am on most days and try to leave by 530pm. Some teams seem to get to the office around the same time. Like many people in the environment art team get here hella early by ArenaNet standards, which is around the time I get to work. --Regina Buenaobra
- Addendum: To my knowledge, we are all salaried. We do often work beyond 40 hours each, but that's like a bonus for ArenaNet, since we don't get anything extra for it. Keeping a work/life balance is encouraged, and most people get to work on time and leave on time. --Regina Buenaobra 16:26, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you Regina. Good to have you back. --Silverleaf 18:17, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
- Have to say, hearing that was more information than I thought we'd get. Have to say its nice to hear that content [insights into the workplace]; nice to know its not like 9am-11pm almost every day ... now, if only my partner started doing it Arenanet's way lol ^_^ 000.00.00.00 19:51, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
- Their clothing is also casual style, like most companies in the gaming industry. Vael Victus 21:25, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

- I made guildwars say Guild Wars because I've never heard of guildwars but I think it's something like Guild Wars, which I know for a fact she plays. Vael Victus 00:04, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- That's cute, Silverleaf! Thank you! Do you mind if I modify the wording? --Regina Buenaobra 19:13, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for being real
I just wanted to say thank you Regina for the wonderful talk we had the other day online. Again, I don't know of any GMs who will have a full blown conversation with a regular joe like me, so it was nice and refreshing when you responded to my pms. I know you get a lot of people bugging you about inside info, but it was just nice to shoot the breeze. Keep being real. -Mae West Night --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:71.120.146.176 (talk).
- I can confirm she is also a real person. Vael Victus 03:58, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
