Sorry for being a pest. :(

LOL, once again im sorry for being a pest but just to let you know your talk page is now 4 times the recommended size and as such might affect some slow browsers. Regina if you would like some help with creating an archive system like the one Gaile used to have in place, please don't hesitate to ask. Many of the users here, including myself, would love to help. I know that Gaile's archives were a wee bit on the excessive side but with the amount of messages she got, it did turn out to be functional and easy enough to navigate. Although admittedly I think we are currently waiting for decisions to be made concerning the "ANET:" namespace. but we could at least get the groundwork of a template for your archive system working. -- Salome User salome sig.png 15:55, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Salome: don't worry about it. Your help would be appreciated. I had other tasks of higher priority to tackle in recent days and wiki archiving was pushed to a lower prioriy. What are your recommendations? --Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 21:24, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
I know people offered to help Gaile with archiving, but she refused saying that she felt she owed it to the poster to archive it. That being said, I think plenty of volunteers are standing by to help with the menial tasks of keeping your Talk page clean. You could do a simple system where you read the section and then post "archive in 2 days [with a timestamp]." 48 hours later a helpful mod comes along and archives it to the appropriate section. Good luck, any way you choose to do it. --Ravious 12:34, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Is it against wiki etiquette to move discussions into archive pages by topic bit by bit? For example, there are a bunch of conversations up there that could be split off into an archive page for random talk. Is it okay to continue to add to the archive page for random talk as needed, or are we meant to create archive pages once and never add to them bit by bit? --Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 18:03, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
If I understand you correctly it is just fine. Whether by archive topic or a general archive it should just go into the most recent that fits. For example, if you have more "welcomes" to archive they would ideally be added to you "Welcomes 2" archive since it is the most recent that fits. You would only need to create a "Welcomes 3" if 2 gets too big. I would just base it on what will be best if I want to refer back to something to find it without spending a whole lot of time getting it archived in the first place. Hope that helps. -- Inspired to ____ 20:05, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Yeh inspired is right. You cant say break bits of a conversation into 2 different archives, but you can take certain topics as they arise and close and move the topic in a chunk to the relevant archive page without a need to create more archive pages relating to that topic. Just as an example lets say you had an ursan blessings archive, everytime the ursan blessing topic came up and you wanted to archive it off your active topic page, you could move it to that page. Obviously the archives dont have to be titled in such a precise manner. Like personally I suggest moving it to something like Guildwars suggestions or something of that ilk or "Skill Chatter" or maybe even "misplaced articles". Either way the format you wish to use to archive is all about personal taste. It is however a good idea if you're going to archive by topic to leave a wee link showing where you've archived the topic too, as prevents people moaning in the future. I would say see Gaile's talk page for an example of this but it seems like at the mo shes stopped archiving too. DOH! lol :) I would say that you should have a wee think of what would be logical to you in organising your talk page and then post here the kinda headings you want on your archive menu and we'll work on making you an archive menu and you can build from there. I think good headings to bear in mind for your archive system can be found here: User:Gaile_Gray/sidebox as that pretty much covers all the major stuff you'll be getting posted on your page, and then from that you can subdivide further either by date or by more precise topic. -- Salome User salome sig.png 23:16, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Cool. Okay so I've taken a look at Gaile's archiving system and I think what I would like for the different topic pages (for now, more can be added as needed) would be (they are basically the same since I think they do make sense): Random Chatter, Wiki, Game Related, Community and Website, Product Information, and Misplaced Topics. Sorry for being such a slow archiver! :-P--Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 01:00, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Sweetheart no worries. You've kinda been thrown in at the deepend. Most of us get to find our feet first and then work out archiving. Unfortunately as you're a CM, you've just been chucked in here and got spammed alot. Oh by the way my love, i suggest saying something about moving the topic below to the ursan blessing talk page as its killing your page as that topic has got HUGE. :) Anyway I'll basically use Gailes as a template for yours and make you the same menu system for the top of your page. Do you mind if i add it in to your talk page or do you just want the link to it after im done making it and you can add it yourself? -- Salome User salome sig.png 01:05, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Okay the rough template is done. you'll need to modify the sub-directories more to your own taste but ive put some there just so you can see how they operate in wiki coding. you can find your new archive directory at: User:Regina_Buenaobra/sidebox. If you want to use it you can add it to your page just like you've added Gaile's sidebox to the top of your page and then it would probably be an idea to go through the archives you've made already and sort them into those categories and thus you can take away the ugly wiki standard archive template. If you have any questions about it or anything else, please just ask. EDIT: oh i used the blue you seem to be favoring on your page, for the background.-- Salome User salome sig.png 01:30, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for all the help, Salome. Uh, so I just wanted to say that "sweetheart" and "my love" are endearments reserved for my significant other, and it makes me uncomfortable when other people use those familiar terms with me. I know you didn't mean any offense or anything by it.--Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 18:17, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Fair enough, it's just the way people raised in Manchester talk/type, I forget that Americans use them in a different way. I'll endeavour not to do it again. :) -- Salome User salome sig.png 18:37, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Understood. When I lived in the UK, people did use those terms with me, but of course I'm reacting based on my upbringing, which is mostly American. :-) --Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 02:46, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Salome; I thought you reserved those expressions strictly for your guild manager! Wait till she finds out that you are using them with another woman!  :) Muahahah. lol, knowing you like I do, I know you meant them with absolute and total respect. Araliuns sun 16:50, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Pardon the Dust

I'm going to be archiving today. Discussion that is no longer fresh, in which the last comment is timestamped more than five days ago (discussions older than 3 May 2008), will be moved to the archives. Cheers. --Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 18:35, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Ursan Blessing

I am moving all Ursan Blessing discussion to the talk page for Ursan Blessing at 14:00 Pacific Time. If you would like to continue discussion about Ursan Blessing, do so on the talk page for that skill. --Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 18:24, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

This is now done. From now on, if you want to talk about this skill, please go to the talk page for Ursan Blessing.--Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 21:03, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

dont know my way around wiki yet sorry

for some reason i cant add to that thread anymore ...anyway what u wrote just confirms what ive said abt the amount of synchers doubling and the situation getting worse. how well would ur friend have done if he hadnt synched with you? im at r7 gamer i managed r6 before i started synching if ur trying to max without synching isnt an option anymore .... gw2 is coming out and nobody wants to miss out on gw2 events to go play the old stuff.and yes we've all pwned gimp and the rest of plz synch troupe at some point but 90% of the ppl playing aren't on our level and dont get the oportunity to play with experienced players if everyone is synching. on a side note ive played against/with ur bo mo para quite a few times ^^ actually i distinctly remember playing quite a few times against 2 guys from xoo on mon/tue bet that was u + friend -johnnysorrow/subgreenisgod 85.176.87.247 17:45, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

umm...maxing out gamer is hardly possible anyway. I don't thing anyone has done it yet, and I doubt very much that you will be the first.--Yankeefan984 16:09, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

...Punctuation is your friend, not your enemy...please use periods...-Warior Kronos User Warior Kronos Sig.jpg 13:32, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

what the hell is punctuation doing in my friend!?!85.176.73.65 11:55, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Proofreading is your friend, please do it. Lol gj Kronos. But srsly, 85.176, people are going to understand you better if you add punctuation. Everyone makes tpyos, but add a lack of punctuation and it may be unreadable. Ashes Of Doom Talk 02:53, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm moving old discussions, where the last response was 5 or more days ago, to the archives. --Regina Buenaobra User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 19:18, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Regina: in the future you can just put "Archiving" in the edit summary box (just above the "This is a minor edit" and "Watch this page" checkboxes) when you're removing the posts, no need to explicitly state it on the talk page.
Everyone else: Take it to your own talk pages. - Tanetris 23:45, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
