User Nav Bar

Was wondering if you might be able to help me create a user nav bar for my different chars. Or atleast point me in the right direction of how to do it. My username on wiki is Phantomice and here is my page http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/User:Phantomice

Sure, no problem. I see you are already using a navbar there, though: what exactly do you have in mind? - Thulsey Zheng - talk 03:09, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Jeez!

Takin' a while for that Stormray info aren't you. xD Vengeance Signet 03:51, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

+ links

The + (edit) link you have next to the top left section (About Me) on your userpage points to www.wiki.guildwars.com instead of wiki.guildwars.com - since the full domain is different (because of the extra www.), someone who clicks on that link will often be "logged out" if they go to edit from there, because the browser is storing the login cookie for "wiki.guildwars.com" only. You might want to update it to be consistent with the other edit links on your userpage, which use the normal full domain without the www. :) (Added: hmm, actually, all of the edit links except the "In wiki" one use the www. - you might want to switch them. :) Go to Aiiane's Talk page (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 15:28, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Oh wow, thanks. That might explain some things ;). I'll switch them out. It's weird, I just copied and pasted. Why would it read www? - Thulsey Zheng - talk 03:37, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Page relocation or deletion

I have two user talks apparently. One from before I registaered, and one from afterwards. I tried to merge the comments on their respective talk pages, but I failed... So I copy-pasted the conntents, and attempted to remove the old page. I failed miserably... Any Ideas? Gwynna Vive 20:52, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Simply add {{delete|reason for deletion}} to that page and a sysop will come along and take it away for you. Looks like copying and pasting worked out fine; and templates are your friend (they save you a lot of work). Adding the {{moved}} template on a page you move content from is a good idea. {{moved|to|User_talk:Gwenna Vive}} and {{moved|from|anonymous talk page}} make it more official and leave a link in place for others to follow just in case they want or need to. A good example of that is on the Help:Ask a wiki question page due to the high volume of people asking game-related questions in the wrong place. - Thulsey Zheng - talk 01:37, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for filling me in, I hope I did it correctly! Also noticed your character page, and hope to add something like that for my user page. Of course it'd be a monsterous page, because I have far too many characters (30 I believe)...maybe I should just write a list to save the disk space, lol! Gwynna Vive 04:19, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
Looks fine! Page is tagged for deletion and should get taken care of quickly. It's really not a big deal, either way, since you tagged it as moved, but it is nicer to have unnecessary pages deleted.
A user page is a wonderful way to learn about wiki formatting and code, so you definitely might consider doing that when you have the time. Feel free to include my character templates on a character page and experiment. Probably best to do it the way I have and list your characters on your main page, then link to a sub page as people are touchy about huge main userpages. Check out User:Lensor for a great template to do the individual characters with! She would encourage you to use it.
Since they are templates, they are easily inserted in your page. User:Thulsey/Character Tables has the instructions on mine. Just include it on your page for each character. Let me know if you have any questions! - Thulsey Zheng - talk 05:04, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Hay

I have to say, this is one of the better designs I've seen here. Nice work. -elviondale (tahlk) 06:04, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
