Gamer[edit]

Excuse me? This page has just been reverted. Just like User_talk:217.120.78.57 <-- this guy I ask you: Could you provide any proof before changing the page? --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 19:02, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm not lieing, i just made a account btw,i provided the info a bit earlier too. The person that made R9 is named "Marius V I P" in Guild Wars, he told me Rank 10 was 90,000. And i know he isn't lieing cause i've been playing with him almost all "wintersday" the skillz event--The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wubz (talk).
please sign ur posts with 4 tildes at the end. i do recognize marius from the event, and the previous r9 screenshot. i won't revert u again, but it'd be great if u could ask him for a screenshot. written evidence for a new tier requirement is bad precedence. --VVong|BA 19:10, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
(Conflicted edit) Please do not edit the Gamer page again, it is against the 1:RR policy. And no - the page will stay as before untill you can provide a picture or other proof of the title. It won't hurt to keep the page as it was for a couple of hours, will it? --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 19:12, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

When i see him again i'll ask if i can make a screenie off it, he's offline right now. I didn't know about the Wiki rules, sorry about this --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Wubz (talk).

I have placed a {{disputed}} tag on the points table and opened the discussion on the talk page asking for proof of rank 10 points. Please stop reverting the page until consensus has been reached. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn/talk 19:17, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Karasu, I'm sorry to jump in here but really you are all breaking the 1RR, also we have a policy of "assuming good faith", their is no requirement to prove with a screenshot. Unless you have proof to the contrary you should stop reverting the IP's edits as nor will it effect the page if its 90,000 for a while either.
To Wubs these are not wiki rules, these are users taking extra measures above and beyond what are demanded by our codes of conduct. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 19:19, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
salome, i was the only person to revert wubz. that's hardly "all" the ppl in here. i reverted b/c in the past, we've had numerous edits on the pt requirements that have since been disproved. if we're overzealous, it's only b/c of past experience on this exact issue. --VVong|BA 19:23, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm not getting at you Wong and I understand that we want correct info, however this wiki's standard is AGF. Unless someone can prove something to the contrary then we should just accept the edit. IF you are right that no one has yet reached rank 9 and the edit is in error, then it doesn't matter as rank 10 is kinda academic at this point anyway. With more users who reach that rank comes greater consensus but reverting people just cause you want extra proof isn't the way the wiki is intended to work as we must operate on the basis that unless people are clearly trolling, that they are acting in the best interests of the wiki. Otherwise we would need a blanket policy for everyone to supply proof every time they made an edit concerning a new thing added to the game, which personally i would be greatly offended by. By all means guys, discuss the issue at hand as that's what the wiki is about, but I'm just saying that the cornerstone to a functioning wiki is "Assume Good Faith" and i think that it is both a poor welcome to the wiki and bad precedent to set, to start reverting people and then asking for proof from them, just because you don't trust their edits, with no proof to the contrary. - Salome User salome sig2.png 19:36, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
so where were u when they protected the hero article for unproven information? i've already explained to wubz the particular circumstances of why some of the other editors including myself wanted screenshots. i wasn't trying to impugn wubz's integrity as i explained in the revert summary. the fact that he mentions marius and magica definitely gives his claim credence. but agf works when the information isn't often faked, or when it can be verified by others. brand new tiers are not easily verifiable by other editors, so i think asking for screenshots is reasonable for something like this. the disputed tag is prolly the best solution to this until we get a screenshot. --VVong|BA 19:58, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

You can ask most Skillz farmers about Marius getting R9 last event, he got in on the last day off wintersday. He planned out how many wins he needed a day and most Skillz players knew he was getting it so i think you can get this confirmed from more people then just me. I'm sure "Magica De Duck" can confirm that this rank has been accomplished. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Wubz (talk).

It's simple guys, the disputed tag stays on it (with the disputed information in) until it's determined by consensus, or screenshot that it is either correct or incorrect. The reverting stops here and the discussion begins, preferably on Talk:Gamer. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn/talk 19:41, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Agreed with Wyn. :) -- Salome User salome sig2.png 19:43, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Ok I got a screenshot off R9 Skillz, iff anyone needs proof, tell me where to post it :P Wubz 18:50, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Special:Upload and Talk:Gamer#Disputed would be the best place ;-) --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 19:12, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
btw wubz, if i came off as curt or rude, it was not intentional. it was simply that false info had often been posted before. the gamer title is one of the few things about gw that i still care about, so maybe i was overprotective of the article. thx for contributing and i hope ur initial "welcome" doesn't keep u from making edits in the future. --VVong|BA 19:50, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Ty, uploaded in :Special:Upload , http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Image:User_Wubz_R9Gamer.jpg <-- the linkWubz 19:48, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

You can link to it with the following code: [[:Image:Gw121.jpg]]. Uhh.. TheRave did just tag is for deletion instead of fixing the title =/ --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 20:04, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
(update) I requested a move. You can now use [[:Image:User Wubz R9Gamer.jpg]] to post a link to it. --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 20:12, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

isn't it smarter to make it Marius R9Gamer? i'm not the one that got the title Wubz 20:17, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Meh.. I just named it the first title I could think of. It's just that the wiki asks users to name their own pictures as User_Username_whatever. It doesn't matter much, the picture says it all ;-) --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 20:20, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

True on that, gives me a little fame on here too ;P Wubz 20:21, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
