An item used to salvage other items for both common and rare crafting materials, similar to a Salvage Kit, but with the potential to take more valuable parts of the salvage item.
On top of the chance to receive rare materials, Expert kits also have at least one guaranteed chance to salvage the upgrade component of your choice from an item with salvageable modifiers, such as Inscriptions. Items have a chance of being destroyed when salvaged for upgrades.
This kit has a default of 25 charges. The Superior Salvage Kit is also available, being functionally identical to this kit, except having 100 charges, costing significantly more, and having a different item icon.

The Expert Salvage Kit can be aquired from:
- Any Merchant (except tutorial regions) for 400
.
- Quest reward Collectors in exchange for 3 reward tokens.
[edit] How To Use
Double-click the Expert Salvage Kit icon in either your inventory panel, or from an open storage account window, then click the item you wish to salvage. The item is then converted into a crafting material, or if more than one salvage choice is available, a selection window will appear where you may choose the upgrade item(s) or the crafting material. There will also be the option to cancel the salvage attempt. Note: One empty slot in inventory is required prior to any salvage attempt.
If the salvage attempt is for crafting material, the original item along with any upgrades will be destroyed and replaced by the crafting material. The benefit to using an Expert Salvage kit is to obtain a rare crafting material, or a larger amount of the common crafting material. Example: Using an Expert Salvage kit on a Crude Axe may yield a Steel Ingot rather than an Iron Ingot.
If the salvage attempt is for any kind of upgrade component other than the crafting material, (ie: Rune, Insignia, etc.) there is a 50% chance that the original item being salvaged will survive, allowing it to be further salvaged, sold, or upgraded. The chance of survival raises by 3% for each rank of the Treasure Hunter and Wisdom title track the player has, providing a maximum 92% chance if both titles are at max. Perfect Salvage Kits may be used instead to ensure the source item is not destroyed.
It is not known if the salvage bonus also applies to the chance of getting rare crafting materials.
