The Vanguard's Tale is an overarching quest that guides characters through The Vanguard's Tale content. When this quest is in your log, foes in Ascalon will be different and you will have access to additional optional quests.
Requirements[edit]
- Completing The Last Day Dawns (secondary)
- Completing The Wedding (secondary)
- Obtaining the Valued Agent title (Ebon Vanguard rank 8)
Objectives[edit]
- Speak to Gwen about the recall of the Ebon Vanguard. (The Recall)
- Attend the celebration of the Ebon Vanguard's return. (Return to Ascalon)
- Assist the Ebon Vanguard with their preparations to leave. (Leaving Ascalon)
- Begin the journey to the southern edge of Ascalon. (The Journey Begins)
- Assist the Vanguard with the problems they've encountered on the road. (Signs of Trouble)
- Help the Vanguard recover the civilians lost in the Charr raid. (Death of a Hero)
- Press forward with the journey to the southern mountains. (The Path of Fear)
- Defend against the overwhelming Charr force. (Fateful Night)
- Discuss the future of the caravan with Gwen. (Arrival)
- Consult with Koro about the fast approaching Charr assault. (Heart Loss)
- Speak to Gwen about the upcoming battle. (The Future)
- Help the Ebon Vanguard as they make their final stand. (Unstoppable and Immovable)
- Speak to Gwen in Ebonhawke. (We Are Home)

Accept: "I shall speak to you shortly; surely a matter that you believe is pressing is truly important indeed."
