Hits "x" Number of Foes[edit]

I originally put this at one but I'm still mulling over the actually amount of foes struck per second. If anyone wants to that out an idea and a reason why, I'm all ears. :3 Magic User Magic Icon.jpg Talk 02:18, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

lets see, by "dps" you actually mean "aoe", but your "aoe" skill only affects 1 target, making it not "aoe", maybe you should review your thoughts Talamare 02:34, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
AOE has nothing to do with the amount of people damaged. AOE is just the spells Area Of Effect meaning the space the spell covers. So I think he hit the definition spot on although he did use the wrong word. Oh and for the record i think it would be a pretty neat skill. Wretched90 23:30, 16 September 2009 (CST)
By DPS I meant as it says: Damage Per Second. The skill is set at target foes location and can target with everything in the range of nearby. The DPS part would be the duration. Take Searing Heat for example, it does x fire damage over 5 seconds. This works the same way. They aren't sure fire hits and in its current form it doesn't mean it'd hit the same foe. All though I'm still thinking about bumping the number of targets to 3 but I'll wait to get other peoples views. Magic User Magic Icon.jpg Talk 06:01, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
dot(damage over time) is term you are thinking of or adot- Talamare 07:54, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
i would give it 25% armor penatration also reduce recharge to 25 and give it 3 sec cast for pvp--Aura 13:01, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
@Aura: Yeah, it would need to be split into a pve/pvp skill. But I don't play any pvp so I didn't mess with it. :3 @Talamare:I've never heard of the term DoT nor do I see a difference. Magic User Magic Icon.jpg Talk 17:36, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
dps applies to anything, a warrior is doing 30 dps with his melee, a ranger is doing 40 dps with bow, a sin is doing 120 dps for a few seconds... damage over time or dot, applies to specific that does damage over time, illusion of pain does 10 degen and 10 dot, breath of fire does 40 dot... etc, note just because 'you' never heard of the term, doesnt mean it doesnt exist Talamare 18:16, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
1)DoT and DPS are both the exact same thing. and 2)I never said DoT didn't exist. I simply said I haven't heard of it. Magic User Magic Icon.jpg Talk 19:29, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
they are not the same thing, but are often used as i they are the same. dps is measuring how much damage per second some1 does. while dot is anything that does it's damage over a period of time. so one is a unit of measurement, the other is a way of doing dmg. people get them confused all the time. PS love the skill ideaAkbaroth 02:33, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

recharge time[edit]

i like the idea (a lot) but, i think for hitting only 5 times, even at that dmg, deserves a much shorter recharge, maybe something like 20 seconds

sound nice, I like the idea of a DPS skill in the Airmagic Line. 20sec for 5 sec duration is nice I think. --Kali Shin Shivara 17:59, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

Air magic and dps[edit]

Air magic doesn't have DPS (or at least it's not supposed to) because it has more than enough utility to make up for the lack of damage. Fire damage does insane damage because it has no utility. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 18:04, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
