date[edit]

where did he copy the date from? I couldn't find any previous RfAs for drogo on this wiki. 77.100.114.120 22:31, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

Never did one before. Dont know where the date came from unless it is where I copy/pasted some of the text from something I typed a long time ago.User DrogoBoffin sig icon.png Drogo Boffin 22:37, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

Just for the record[edit]

I didnt create this. I found it on the wiki and thought it was funny so I used it once or twice. Just mentioning checkuser to somebody who would log out to do stuff so it didnt link to them does not show intent to use it. I would also like to point out that the user I mentioned it to was later permabanned. As for the rest of them, yeah I was a douche. A lot of people on the wiki are/were. That doesnt mean that I have not made and wont continue to make many positive contributions. It is my goal to prove that I am no longer the user I use to be. I will also show that I can be trusted not to go off like other users/sysops have. There are people on here that were banned/blocked for trolling, vandalism and douchebaggery that have gone on to be sysops and bcrats. I want nothing for the best for the wiki. If that means that I dont get sysop at this time then so be it. I will continue to make positive contributions and work on learning from the mistakes I have made in the past. That includes reading any policies I havent read and re-reading the policies I have read. User DrogoBoffin sig icon.png Drogo Boffin 16:01, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

I feel this part; "I want nothing for the best for the wiki. If that means that I dont get sysop at this time then so be it. I will continue to make positive contributions and work on learning from the mistakes I have made in the past. That includes reading any policies I havent read and re-reading the policies I have read." is a good stance on your current position and as to why now is not (yet) your time to become a sysop. I think you realise where all the the opinions are coming from and you also realise your past actions are currently working against you. If I was standing in your shoes, I'd withdraw my RfA at this time and continue to work on my visible and invisible reputation on this wiki.
Your care for this wiki is commendable; not many users care deeply about a wiki documenting a game that is about to see a massive player-shift and will probably not end up with many active wiki contributors. If you stay dedicated to both the game and the wiki, you are certainly encouraged to improve your behaviour and wiki-fu to prepare for that change. You'll be one to stick around after the release of Guild Wars 2, so you can focus on that time instead of migrating to GW2W due to GW2.
In time we will find out if you have the qualities of a sysop, but at this time you are in the state of a diamond in the rough. If you take more time to polish up your behaviour and acquainting yourself more with the role of a sysop, you may have a better shot at any future RfA you nominate yourself for (or end up being nominated for, which I hope will happen in earnest). I'm not saying you can never be a sysop. I'm just saying that you shouldn't be a sysop as you are now. Ultimately I'm not voting here (heck, I don't even know if I have enough edits to vote on this wiki (though I expect I do)), but I still wanted to share my advice with you. If you want that sysop seat, you can get it as long as you listen to the counter-arguments you have received and the opinions as to how you can improve and take them to heart (and change your ways accordingly, but not mindlessly).
I hope you don't feel demotivated, though. I'm trying to motivate you to try harder for the future.
I wish you the best of luck in this, but more pressingly the next RfA. - Infinite - talk 17:33, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
