Talk:Droknar's Key
From Guild Wars Wiki
HAHAHA all the wands use a Dunshek's Purifier Skin. The foci use a recoloured Protective Icon, I think the face part is gold. All the staves (necro, mesmer rit etc) are Brohn's Staff skin. The axe is a bigger Dwarven Axe, but stone blue like the dwarves at the end of the game, the sword is the Long Sword but stone blue. I think the hammer is the Break Hammer but again stone blue. The ranger ones look really cool, recurve and short are the Half Moon skin but with a really awesome green and gold recolour - I really like it! The rest of them are the Ivory Bow recoloured with the green and gold. It's a REALLY good recolour.
The paragon spears are lame blue recolours of the Suntouched Spear. The Scythe is a lame blue recolour of the Suntouched Scythe and the assasin Daggers are the same skin as Ungues of the Oni with a slight blue recolour change to them. The shields are kinda lame, I'm sure they are just a blue recolour of something else but I dont recognise them. Like much of the new content in GW, its a dissapointing reskin of the old content and presented to us as if it were new. These greens would be more suited if they were added retroactively to Droknar's Forge for people who finished prophecy as most of the skins are prophecy ones anyways and actual new designs used for the weapons for a NEW addition to the series. - The shields are a recolor of the Stone Summit shield. These end-game greens are disappointing considering the nice ones we became accustomed to in Factions and Nightfall. In my opinion, most of the disappointments with weapon/armor skins in GW:EN can be traced back to ANet having set such a high standard in past games. To me it's like a straight-A student who cobbles together bits of past work to turn in for a new assignment. Sure, it's good when you look at it on its own -- reusing something high-quality is automatically high-quality by definition -- but compared to past work it's unoriginal, and you know he's capable of better. The gameplay in GW:EN is awesome and it's obvious they spent their time there, because they really phoned it in on these end-game greens. At least we have the Asuran and Norn weapons for reasonably-priced unique skins, and we can put the mods we like on those. Bcstingg 15:44, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
Do you get to pick what weapon will drop from the chest that you open, or will it just be one of the 3 available?--The X Shadow 11:31, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
Yes, you can pick out which one you would like to have. A little late, but hope it helps out anyone else with the same question.William Wallace 09:00, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
