Lol its completely useless 151.66.156.96 12:03, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

At 14 illusion it now deals 126 dmg over 8 seconds, which can be removed. At 15 energy and 2 secs cast this seems like a joke. I understand that nerfing abused skills is a good idea but this is just another smiter's boon. 88.101.241.36 14:08, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
I wouldn't go that far, but i doupt we'll see it anytime soon, unless it's a specialized build. (n122333 who is to lazy to log in) 74.138.97.148 19:03, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
Keep in mind, at rank 15, you can max out the damage at exactly 7.5 seconds which will deal up to 220 damage (7.5 because degen does 2 damage in a second, 1 damage in a split. So therefore 150 damage from degen, and 70 damage from spike) before it heals them. So if you know you can kill them with 220 damage over 7.5 seconds, then this skill isn't all that worthless. Just coordinate it, then it's deadly. →[ »Halogod User Halogod35 Sig.png (talk ]← 19:09, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
No dude, it is worthless now. You heal your target when it ends and when it is reapplied. WTF?! So anet just limited when I can use this skill? Let me rephrase that, you can use this skill anytime as long as you want to heal your target. So now you got one skill slot that is useful only when someone is just about dead??? Mesmers have more damaging skills to get the final blow. This skill is a damn joke and its not april 1st. All you gonna do with this skill is heal your opponent, lol. Hmm, lets see...I want to kill my foe so I can't let the skill end or else I will heal them; so I need to reapply it to put pressure on them, oh wait, can't do that either cause that would heal them and undo the damage I just did. I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't, haha. This is so stupid that I had to come on here and make a comment after my last comment 3 years ago, lol. Common sense and logic went bye-bye on this skill's functionality. 75.191.173.140 21:59, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Why the nerf? Were people really abusing this skill? And was the abuse due to the skill itself or the opponents not using decent counters and tactics? This skill does 30 dps to a single target which is good but not overpoweringly so, and if the hexed is removed the target is suddenly going to have 200+ more health. I've been a victim of IoP many times and even when it's killed me I never thought "OMG this skill should be nerfed!". Can anyone can show why IoP must be nerfed (e.g. with this current flux Meek Shall Inherit or some gimmick build and tactic)? 1.5 sec cast time at 8 fast casting with occasional 0.5 sec cast113.210.231.201 07:59, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Because this

This skill needed to be dealt with, Mesmers would just romp around JQ and trash anybody they saw. This skill was abused for nigh on a year and a half, so I'm glad they finally did something about it. --99.31.12.131 21:11, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Balance revolves around GvG FYI. Because with IoP, a solo-split mesmer could destroy everything in the lord pit very quickly. If you were to split back a flagger, not only do you open yourself to more pressure at the main team due to loss of party heals via Life and PwK, the flagger may even get soloed by the mesmer if he doesn't run back fast enough/despite sitting in the lord pit himself with NPC support EVEN WHEN THEY DROP THEIR ELITE FOR THE EXTRA REGEN/HEALS FROM THIS FLUX and any single damage character you split back would also get soloed apart from perhaps a Mind Blast ele or another illusion mesmer. To effectively counter with if you are running an 8v8 build would then often require collapsing back more than one character, allowing the other team to powerplay whereas the mesmer could simply run away from your collapse early to strike some other time and you'd soon lose position/the game. tldr; solo split mesmers were too effective, but even so, most teams these days and especially those spike teams fail at counter-split so other splitting options are remain viable. No one is saying a skill shouldn't be balanced or dealt with. The argument/rant for this skill is the utterly stupid new functionality. Anet slapped aSmiter's Boon (PvP) solution on this...they made the skill useless. If anet put forth effort to nerf a skill, at least make the damn thing useful. 75.191.173.140 23:42, 26 March 2012 (UTC)
Illusion of Fail. 31.187.1.70 18:10, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
Well to be honest it's still 'better' than that original version, it's just that it's no longer op and so not worth using. ZencowUser Ox rider Sig.png 08:01, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Glad I used this a lot right before it was changed. Now it's literally an Illusion... not keep reapplying till death. Previously Unsigned 05:05, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
