I have before, but many more times I've tried I have been unable to kill him. When I did kill him, I ignored the grawl entirely and left Devona to fight for herself. I ran around the hill and approached Vatlaaw so that I was between him and the entrance to Regent Valley. I think he got stuck on the spirit that he summons, because he just stood there while I killed him. Other times, he's just run right by me and off into Regent Valley. --Nkuvu 06:06, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

You can also have a partner stationed in the passage before you talk to Devona. As soon as you talk to Devona and take the quest, the Charr boss will appear. Then your partner will have a good shot at killing him. If your partner misses him then he should follow him into the Regent Valley, both you and partner map to Ashford Abbey, abandon the quest and try again. (By the way, all he dropped was a Charr carving).

I did not have it from the town crier until after I did it. But, just to double check, I will make a new character today and test it again. Shade the (talk) 11:35, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
