Monsters in area[edit]

I killed 400, I have a screenie and can upload if needed. This'll be a tough area to vanquish in hard mode :D - IronHeart 21:52, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

I needed to kill ~488 to vanquish, though that was with The Path to Revelations active. On another note, anyone want to post their best gained points in one run from this weekend? I managed to get to rank 4 + rampage in HM coming up to the Facets, so I gained 21,714 points total for the run. Hero/hench too :D --onoes! Mafaraxas 08:18, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
XD, I'm still working on EotN ^^;; (ya, kinda sad, ain't it?). I've just been to busy recruiting for my Guild to keep it at 110+ members and working here on the wiki.--§ Eloc § 08:24, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Wurm boss[edit]

I was recently out in Varajar Fells, and I encountered a Necro Wurm boss. I wasn't able to get a screenshot of it, but I still remember where I found it. It was about 3/4 of an inch (about 2 centimeters) from the right of the "Varajar Fells" text in the map (M). Not sure what elite he had too. :/
--Obsolete92 15:54, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Nevermind. It's just Jormungand. He has a green aura around him but is actually a Warrior with Earth Shaker, Irresistible Blow, Pulverizing Smash, and Flail.--Obsolete92 15:57, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

ya i added it it freaked me out cus i wasnt expecting any wurms. let alone a BFW--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:75.82.14.25 (talk).

Jormungand is currently listed as a warrior on the page. This should be fixed, unless the profession stated on the page goes off of the elite skill they use. Since it is a necromancer boss, should it list him as necromancer/warrior or just necromancer? <>Sparky, the Tainted 23:26, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
Jormungand doesn't show up on the list of bosses, I'll add him but it would be nice to get a location for the map too. Widowmaker 14:24, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Norn Faction Farming[edit]

Maybe someone should include that this area is the most used place for hard mode norn faction farming. What do you need?
8 hard mode players (2 Monks/1 Monk+1 Ritu) (+lots of Ursan tanks recommended)
Someone who has the quest "The Path to Revelations" active
Start a vanquishing run up to 250 kills and then go on killing all the bosses and facets. You'll gonna get like 5000-7.000 Norn Faction in a simple one hour run. If you continue afterwards for a real vanquish or use boss bounty, Rampage,... you could reach +20.000 Norn faction!

Possible Bug[edit]

I may be wrong on this so if there is a legitimate reason for this happening please let me know. Sometimes while Norn farming some of the Norns at their shrines do not give me any reputation points and/or bonuses. When this happens I get the dialog I would normally get after I would have gotten the reputation points. This seems to happen the most at the shrine to the north of where all the imps and ice golems are. There seems to be no pattern for this happening, but it usually occurs when I reached Hunting rank 4(but not always). Sometime after this happens I'll run strait to another shrine to the south and talk o that Norn and I'll get my reps with no problems there. (It has occurred at least once before where both shrines didn't give me points.)--Worldly Tutor 02:42, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

I too have had this happen once. It happened in Normal Mode and was at the lower right shrine. -- Tarun 23:22, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Exploit[edit]

While doing Bear Club for Women, I managed to run past the guards (click past them off to the side). I ended up being able to explore most of the area with very low amounts of mobs to attack me. -Zerink

-Update: I just explored the portals. You can run past them and experience an edge of the world glitch as well as some nice explorer points for all of the exits except Drakkar Lake. However, Norrhart Domains' exit is a bit pointless to explore. -Zerink--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:138.23.22.36 (talk).

Vanquishing[edit]

Be careful of those ice imp's maelstrom and also smoke phantoms, bring some interrupts. Killed 475 foes (excluding those skeletons), gain about 13k norn points (without any quests), used about 1 hour 30 mins heroes & hench. --Cruel Atomic Bomber 05:32, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

514 foes, 1hr 48min, vanq/map. Anti caster is a boon here. There is some physical dmg but its nothing dangerous compared to the numerous elementalists. You will probably wipe at the chained boss even if you kill the grasps first (on the last grasp i managed to aggro them...fun times...). Just dont stray into the aggro bubble of the skellies and they wont turn hostile. A side note, be prepared to hunt for the last few foes on the map since there are ALOT of patrols here (lots of patrols creates over aggro problems too ofcoarse). Justice 10:43, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
513 foes, roughly 2 hours today. Went in as an SoS Assassin and 7 heroes. The most trouble I had was with the huge groups of Ice Imps. If you're playing using heroes, flag to try to get them out of Maelstrom. It's possible to separate the Grasp circle and Undead group if you keep everyone back and pull with a longbow. Tons of patrols, as Justice said above. As long as you break up the area into smaller zones (I typically use resurrect shrines and natural features like lakes and mountains to split a map), you shouldn't have much trouble outside of the occasional patrol moving around. Just be patient and realize this zone is huge. On a related note, does this area seem like the largest vanquish-able area in terms of sheer numbers? Can't find any other areas which top it in the number of kills needed. Stel 06:14, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
512 foes. Took me just over an hour, maybe an hour 15 or so. There are lots of fast moving Centaur patrols and ice imps surrounding the frozen lakes. There are lots of good bridges to ball foes up for RoJ & Mesmer damage. The Ice Imps present the most trouble following the undead boss and his huge group. Not terribly difficult; panic and ineptitude make short work of most foes here. I was glad I brought a soul twisting ritualist for the ice imp/ice elemental cave in the upper left. I scouted the outskirts then cleaned up the middle areas. --LunarRXA (talk) 19:10, 9 March 2017 (UTC)

Facet Bug[edit]

So, I'd never done Path to Revelations or started any of the Facet quests, but when I go into the cave, Nifling wasn't there. Instead the Facets spawned and the end dialog of the quest did, with the spirit appearing and talking in gobbldegook. Random.--92.10.202.17 07:26, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Environment Effect[edit]

I was exploring Varajar Fells just now and got an environment effect while I was clearing the Shock Phantoms surrounding Nifling the Chained. The environ effect was there and gone in the blink of an eye, so I didn't have any time to read the name, but the icon had a sickly green background with several black skulls in the foreground. It popped up and stayed just long enough for me to register the design of it, then it went away. It didn't come back once. Has anybody else experienced this in the area surrounding Nifling the Chained, or anywhwere else? - Ara ~ A R A ~ 00:43, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Effect is Haunted Ground's

I think it has something to do with Tanto's presence before he is a boss for the quest Haunted.
