Truthfully, I would have never gotten involved with Guild Wars if it hadn't been for a friend of mine. We met and became fast friends during the URU beta even though he lived in Australia and I lived in the U.S. He played all through the BWE's and tried more than once to get me to participate. I never participated in the BWE's, but I finally succumbed and pre-ordered GW. I've played ever since with brief breaks during vacations and such.
