Make PvP reward-only items available in PvE (Discussion)[edit]

Pretty simple. Darkwing Wands, Elliptical Staves, Shields of the Dead, and anything else you can find on Tolkano's page should be available in PvE (or even as drops from the HoH chest), even if obscenely rare. Now, I realize these are meant to be "rewards" to PvP players who get a LOT of tournament points put together, and that's cool, more power to them. But it should be possible for other players to enjoy them. Therefore, I propose you either A) make them available in various places in PvP or B) make them uncustomized. It costs 10 gold to customize a weapon, I think the people who have the crazy number of tournament points necessary to get some of these items can afford. A Crystalline Sword is easier for people who don't play in tournaments to get than something as simple as, oh, say, a Basic-rewards Kournan Sword. Am I the only one who thinks that's just a little weird? You've made all these great weapons but most players aren't even aware of their existence, let alone get to see them (even if not use them). Make them drop somewhere. And before anyone goes off on some crap about "oh, but anyone can get tournament reward points through the prediction system!," let's do a little math and see how long it would take to even unlock exotic rewards, shall we?

Assuming you're lucky enough to get all 250 TRPs each month by getting all 16 guesses right, you can buy 25 Basic weapons your first month. Another month, and you can unlock Fancy weapons! Yay! After that, it's 20 points per item and you need another 50 items purchased. So, it'll take you four months this time. Six months, just to unlock exotic items. And, of course, you're not going to actually get 250 points a month, you'll get closer to 75, so multiple that by three and a third, and you get a total of 20 months. Twenty months just to unlock the items. Almost two years. And that's if you're stupid enough to piss away all the free Zaishen Keys on reward items you don't actually want.

I think we can fairly assume these items are out of reach for players who don't play tournaments. So, make them drop in PvE somewhere. I don't care where.

Why this is a good idea
  • Balance between PvP and PvE rewards, even though PvE rewards are universally easier to obtain
Why it may not work out
