Note to the open-source community

Until you realize that:
- no, the industry is not interested in over complicated installations procedures for trivial things
- if you develop something for your friends you do not develop it for the industry
- if it's not stable, it make us lose more money than what we would have paid for a usual rock-solid software
- if there is a common / recurrent error / flaw in your application builds, do not put it in a-never-to-be-found note, you need to fix it once and for all
- that's precisely because you answer that it's free and that we are not forced to use it if we dont want to, that we end up not using it any more
- A 2 weeks delay to fix crashes that hence should have a high priority in your bug list force us to always fix things by ourselves, which in turn cost time, and hence cost money, negating the free aspect of your product

In your code I went by what seemed to be an attempt to create an array of objects that revealed itself to do far too much allocations when being expanded. You should use in-place constructors ( new( adr ) / ( T* ( adr )->T() ) and destructor ( T*( adr ) )->~T() to avoid having to delete / recreate the entire array when adding an element in the context "needed size not yet > capacity", provided that you one day use the notion of capacity. But i would suggest that you use a list so that you never recreate the entire buffer in order to just add a new object (which is dangerous because any reference on old objects locations become incorrect). More over, if you choose an array over a list in order to limit fragmentation (which do not seem to be the case) you should then create a pool instead, using in-place constructors and destructors.
Example here. As always, these are only examples and they should not get incorporated in any real production without a severe review. A corrected version that now use aligned blocks have replaced the previous one.

GW missions

Season of the Witch (2011, Nicolas Cage) is one of those DVDs that i buy without really knowing what it is about or if it have a chance to be a good movie. I have been quite surprised and delighted by the atmosphere, the twists and turns of the plot. This is one of those adventures that we would like to live in an MMO with, why not, a good loot in the end. In reality there have been quite some attempts to copy this kind of twists in more than one game like GW, but it's very difficult to create a specific atmosphere in a generic map made of generic stuff and generic enemies. Sometimes i wonder if a good definition for a paradox wouldnt go like this: If game designers would allow players to play AB on whatever map they like, a battle would start every second....
I can always dream of a weekend of test to check if it would work.

Only interesting game play and design might save those who cant afford it. When playing with others becomes a reward

There is something a million times more enjoyable than just beating MoleX or one of the doa areas. It's to do it with players that usually dont find a grp to do it, and show them that with proper support, their build is not as terrible as the dwg players would like them to think it is. A majority of the guys below didnt even know where the portal that lead to gloom was, and they made it to the end, enjoying every second of it. This, more than any title offered in gw, is the kind of reward that i will cherish until gw stop to be played.

Of marketing and gadgets

When at home i was able to connect to internet without using the crap internet connection kit of my isp (read: marketing bright idea of packing useless gadgets that take out 80% of your computer performances so they can justify their pay). But with the internet key you cant even disable stupid SMS that inform you, beware, who won the Rolland Garos match. Their launcher progressively eat up memory (more than 200Mo and it continue until you close it) for no reason since it's supposed to just establish a connection to internet.

In our modern days, Darwin can no more sort out people that are paid 4000$ per month and whose sole talents are to be able to make their employer think they are useful. Fnac, a good exemple of what not to do

If you ever went to Fnac in order to buy a computer you will discover that they got something called a special Fnac warranty. The idea is simple, try to frighten customers by telling them that 35% of the product <X> sold are returned to the shop for repairs.

I'm going to show you how insulting it is for common sens

1) logic: an expensive computer sold by a well established constructor cant have this rate of failures because it would not be a well established constructor.
2) logic: By pretending that 35% of these machines are returned for repair, you are admitting yourselves that you sell shit.
3) logic: Because of 2) you are also pretending that Asus do shitty computers.
4) If you think that the customer is too shy to defend itself against your arguments, you now will remember the day i yelled "35% ? What kind of junk are you selling in that shop ?". Suddenly, the optional special warranty became optional again. How surprising for, how do they call that again... Ah, yes, a "power trader".

Every once in a while, after you score a comfortable number of successful battles, you get near an enemy that seems to be waiting for you and 'hop', either you lag and magically regain control of your toon at the precise moment you die, or you are disconnected, just like that, 'hop' !

Commercial mails

Last weekend when checking my mail box after a month of absence i did get a big surprise: the mail box was full of junk mail and when i say full, i mean it, a brick of junk mail.

- Good news: almost finished with my current job as a contractor, will soon be back to our studio.
