I was looking at your Barrage builds, cool stuff. I have a Paragon character I use to get titles, but I miss barrage. Any suggestions? I'm thinking to max out marksmanship, and split the remaining points into leadership and either command or motivation. So far I would have barrage, 2 skills for pets, 1 for res, and fallback if I'm using command. I'm looking mostly into adrenal shouts to maintain my energy, and barrage to supply the adrenaline. Interesting. You mention 2 skills for a pet but no mention of ranks in beastmastery. Any reason why? I wou;dn't recommend bringing a pet without 9 ranks in it just to avoid a lengthy death penalty blackout. That or don't bring it at all. Just my opinion though.
Otherwise, Barrage and adrenal shouts are nice (GftE is the idea one so COmmand is the best IMO) together and I could see you using plenty of skills otherwise but it all debpends on what you are trying to accompish. It sounds like damage is on your mind but the mention of FB and a pet makes me think you are focusing on multiple roles. Damage, support, speed, healing, and perhaps even tanking (with your pet). This can get a bit tricky and lessen the impact you have on the party or mob overall as it sounds like you are spread a little thin.
To start, Barrage + GftE! is nice and I highly recommend it as you may be able to spam this every Barrage shot if you are lucky or pick the right targets (even more adrenaline with Natural Temper too). A Res is optional but you have one that you can re-use if desired with Signet of Return. Condition removal will be key as you may be blinded and that would negate most of what you can do so I recommend Remedy Signet unless you are fairly sure there aren't any blinding enemies where you are headed (which is most places in Elona so it isn't always needed). You can easily add in other skills from here but it all depends on what you want to do. If damage is your thing then FTW! is a good one as it does 100 damage with deep wound (even if the condition is removed) and will reduce healing on that target - but it takes forever to recharge and only is applicable to one enemy at a time so Serpent's Quickness could help this become more useful but not necessary.
FB! is great when you are on a time limit (Canthan missions), in a hurry in general, or have a fast party or even minions with you (to heal and speed them or slow NPC's) but it can get a bit costly (same with FTW!) though with proper management can be used very well.
With the addition of the new sunspear skills I recommend bringing "There's Nothing to Fear!" if you have enough ranks as a sunspear as it's a great party support skill acting as a heal and damage reduction. I would choose this over FB! and FTW! at this point. If you need energy though then something as simple as Anthem of Flame and Glowing Signet can help with that and add damage to the party. I really am having a tough time narrowing down the choices here for you so if you can tell me what you are trying to do then I may be able to help better. --File:VallenIconwhitesmall.JPG Vallen Frostweaver 18:27, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
Perhaps I should include a context. I often use heroes & henchs, with 1 hero set as a MM, the other 2 rangers. With me as P/R, that makes 3 pets with lots of minions to tank. I usually also include 2 monks for healing, and the rest rangers or elementalists depending on what's available. I'd set one ranger with spirits (winnowing, favorable winds). In that context, even without beast mastery, blackouts occur but not that often. So the idea so to have additional meat shields. I also like fallback to regen the minions between fights, and because I am usually in a hurry :)
The idea is to have a good P/R that works within well within this context. I know that spreading thin is often not desirable, but with Paragons it's often hard not to. That's one reason why I would not put points in beast mastery.
I haven't thought into sunspear skills, even though I have nearly maxed that line! TNTF would be great indeed. Thanks.
I'm thinking Barrage, GFTE, FTW, Charm Animal, Comfort Animal, Fallback, Signet of Return, and TNTF. Energy management should be fine if I can spam GFTE, right? Alaris 19:15, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
Normally yes, but don't forget that you will only recap the energy lost from Barrage pretty much with GftE. At Leadership 10 you get 5 energy from GftE which would recoup the energy spent but then no energy back for other skills and you only have 2 pips of regen. FTW, FB, and TNtF will run you dry if used often or if you Barrage few to no targets. It sounds like FB is only used between battles (as I use it like that too) so it shouldn't be a worry but TNtF can be used every 10 seconds (it's recommended not to have higher than 13 leadership or it won't expire by the time you refresh it and you don't get the health from it) and it runs 15 energy which is more energy than you can regen and even worse if you use it with FTW (making it about 25 energy every 10 seconds) so you'd need some extra way to get energy back. You'd have to drop FTW IMO and maybe add in something like Natural Temper that should help build adrenaline even better (especially when there is less foes to hit) but that's just a thoguht. If energy is still a problem you can back off on TNtF use or trade in a res and FTW for Anthem and Glowing Signet but that's kinda extreme. Anyway, let me know if this works for you and I hope you have fun with it regardless. --File:VallenIconwhitesmall.JPG Vallen Frostweaver 20:54, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
