(Discussion)

Not sure if this is the right section, but capes have a lot to do with guilds, so... Look at the shape of the player capes. Now, look at the shape of capes belonging to NPC's, specifically, the White Mantle. Justiciars and Knights have big, elegant, flowing capes, whereas players get tiny little rags. (actually, Justiciars get better armor than any player warriors as well, but that is another point of discussion entirely... *ahem*) In GW2 (for that matter, why not in GW1?) there should be multiple cape shape designs available (preferably more varied than the tiny little variations available as of now: actual differences, not tiny style changes). While it is true that capes the same size as the White Mantle's would clip with a lot, it's no worse than the capes currently available, which clip with hair, armor, weapons, shields, focii, and anything else that gets at all close to them (and perhaps if GW2 has a realistic physics system [lol yearite] then there won't be any such clipping).

Why this is a good idea
  • More variety amongst capes (even if there are still only two styles).
  • Current capes resemble rags/towels, not the elegant capes you see in movies.
Why it may not work out
  • More work for the developers.
  • Capes may not even exist in GW2.
