WeHeartKatamari's Issue -- 15:24, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- Issue
- Does not deserve to be an elite skill as it is. This skill is too hard to get yourself in the required position (below 50% health) to get the full benefits of the skill, without putting yourself in too much danger.
- Suggestion
- You can make it non-elite and maybe decrease the amount it steals, this would make it a tad better, considering you don't have to waste your elite skill to have a skill that can be brought as a "just in case my health gets below 50%". If you choose to keep this skill as an elite skill, I had a few ideas for the change of the skill:
- Suggestion 1-
- 10 1 15
- "Elite Spell. Steal 15...27...30 Health from target foe. If target foe is above 75% Health, you steal 15...75...90 Health instead."
- This would still be flowing with the idea of the skill (Ravenous in the sense of the word meaning "extremely hungry" and "intensely eager for satisfaction"), yet increasing the effectiveness of the skill greatly. It also prevents it being from imbalanced because the target has to be above 75% still, so a group of Necromancers trying to use this to spike would be inefficient be as the target would not be above 75% health after they all cast it, limiting the amount of Health they steal. This skill would see far more use in the blood line as it now competes with the other life stealing skills that were far superior to it, like Angorodon's Gaze and Vampiric Gaze.
- Suggestion 2-
- 5 1 8
- "Elite Spell. Steal 15...27...30 Health from target foe. For each condition on you (maximum of three), you steal an additional 15...39...45 Health."
- This suggestion also conveys the general meaning of the word ravenous, this time in the context explaining why the user is ravenous (The more conditions on the user, the more the user would need the health). This seems a little a little too weak at first, but when you think about all the conditions that will be put on you in battle and some conditions that you can apply on yourself, it starts to seem very appropriate. On another note, this skill would have great synergy with the current Blood Drinker - Angorodon's Gaze combination that is popular now.
- Suggestion 3-
- 10 ¾ 10
- "Elite Spell. Steal 15...27...30 Health from target foe. If target foe still has more Health than you, you steal an additional 15...75...90 Health."
- Another suggestion that goes with the "extremely hungry" definition of ravenous. While the skill looks very powerful (maybe too powerful) at first, there are many ways that can lower the effectiveness of this skill easily. Skills like Aura of the Lich come to mind when thinking of things like that. This would also be a good skill, because it's a very good opening skill, but once you have the target at low health, it becomes less effective. This prevents balance issues with the skill as it would have limited ways to misuse the skill to get the full effect of it.
Dark Morphon's Issue -- 15:24, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- Issue
- Inferior to even Vampiric Gaze because of its conditionality. This is in dire need of a buff or even better, a rework.
- Suggestion
- The buff: Swap conditional damage with the current and decrease it to Vampiric Gaze level. Then make it inflict bleeding.
- The rework: Make it an elite version of Angorodon's Gaze. This would be: 5e 1c 5r, Steal 10...34...40 health and lose 3 conditions. For every condition lost, you steal an additional 5...17...20 health and gain 1...3...3 energy.
Underpowered skill
- Issue
- See above
- Suggestion
- OK, there are a couple of things which could be done with this, such as:
- The easier condition, greater unconditional health steal and instant recharge make this a lot more powerful. However, it would still be tricky to spike effectively with since when your target gets very low you would lose the conditional lifesteal. However, you could steal a lot of health quite quickly with this (but only up to a point) - a good equalizer skill.
Elite Spell. Steal up to 15...39...45 Health from target foe. If you are suffering from a Condition which that foe is not suffering from, you lose that Condition and steal an additional 15...39...45 Health.
- Not sure about this one, just got the idea from reading the talk page (it's similar to some suggestions there). This would be a good way for a Necro to take care of his own Conditions to an extent and would be useful in splits or in RA maybe.
- The idea here is that you would stop stealing when your health got back above 66%, but that wouldn't have to be implemented (I just think it would be better if it was).
- The 66% Health condition is more relaxed than the previous 50% and the AoE steal means you will gain more health and deal more damage overall - however, it's not enough to be worthwhile in any kind of spike except maybe as a secondary effect. It also fits the theme - like "Mmm, arr, I'm ravenous, I want to steal all your health from all of you!" sort of a thing. :-).
Falconeye's Proposal
- Issue: See Above ^_^
- Suggestion:
15 1 5 - (Blood Magic) - Elite Spell. Steals 15...27...30 Health. Steals 15...75...90 more if your target has more Health than you. If you are suffering from a Condition, you gain 12 Energy. -OR-
10 1 8 - (Blood Magic) - Elite Spell. Steals 15...27...30 Health. Steals 15...75...90 if your target has more Health than you. Also steals 15...27...30 from nearby foes if any have less Health than you. --Falconeye 01:00, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Akirai's Proposal
- Issue: Sees no use and for good reason. A simple number buff won't do the skill any good. It will either make it way too easy to exploit in blood spike (a no go area) or it will still be ineffective.
- Suggestion:
Rework to hex. Ravenous Gaze - 5e//1c//5r Hex Spell. (5..17..20 seconds)The next time your health drops below 50%, steal 15..90 Health from target. This hex then ends.
- Suggestion:
Ravenous Gaze - 10e//1c//15r Spell. If target foe has more health than you, steal 30..90 health. If target foe has more Energy than you, steal 3..8 Energy.
- Suggestion:
Ravenous Gaze - 10e//.25c//5r Spell. Steal 15..60 Health. If you have no Energy, both you and target foe suffer from Exhaustion.

Comments & Suggestions Here, Please
- Issue
- This skill is weaker than Vampiric Gaze, elite and much more conditional, forcing you to hurt yourself or be hurt enough to work optimally. The change below wouldn't be able to kill someone who had a normal amount of Health. Someone with 33% of their Health being less than 30 would be pretty dead, though. In PvE, this would optimally steal 120 Health. As a foe got down on Health, it would gradually lose effectiveness, even after the first cast on most foes. On foes with huge amounts of Health (Kuunavang) this would be a great skill because it provides self-healing and considerable damage. A PvP version would deal less damage and be in line with Vampiric Gaze's recharge to keep it away from spike influences.
- Suggestion
- (PvE)
- Elite Spell. If target foe is above 90% Health, steal 15...27...30 Health. If target foe is above 66% Health, steal 15...27...30 Health. If target foe is above 50% Health, steal 15...27...30 Health. If target foe is above 33% Health, steal 15...27...30 Health.
- (PvP)
- Elite Spell. If target foe is above 90% Health, steal 15...27...30 Health. If target foe is above 66% Health, steal 15...27...30 Health. If target foe is above 50% Health, steal 15...27...30 Health.
Rising_Dusk's Thoughts - 17:33, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
- Issue
- This skill should be at least as good as Vampiric Gaze, it's non-elite counterpart. Right now it's just too conditional and really isn't all that useful since a good team will never let your life stay under 50% life.
- Turning this around so you steal more life against foes over 50% life allows the skill to be a great lead into a fight, starting it off with a big spike.
- Because it functions over 50% life, this prevents issues with blood magic spiking, since if one cast takes the target under 50%, none of the other casts get the bonus. If blood spike does become an issue, a PvP version with an 8s reload could be implemented to put it on reload-par with Vampiric Gaze.
- Still valuable as an elite even if the target is under 50% life because it functions as a Vampiric Gaze on a faster reload time.
- Suggestion
10 1 5 - Elite Spell. Steal 18...52...60 life from target foe. Steal 12...34...40 more if target is still over 50% life.
