Competitive Elite Areas[edit]
This was something that a buddy of mine brought to mind that he and I would both like to see implemented as it would be fun.
Concept[edit]
In the The Battle Isles, a new locale would be opened up known as Competitive Dungeons. This area would work in the same way as a Competitive Mission. The difference would be that it would be for Dungeons and elite areas to see who can complete areas the fastest with a given skill bar.
Restrictions[edit]
- Players would be restricted to a given skill bar with preset attributes that would be predetermined each month by the top team of the month before (the first one would have to be decided by ANet). To keep it fun for the players it would be an effect like one found in the Costume Brawl (two different builds will be available for each profession Dependant on their gender)
- Players will receive a Profession cap. Only 2 of each profession would be allowed so as to keep Gimmicks to a minimum.
- PvE only skills will be forbidden. Not only to keep it challenging but also to prevent rank hate like in Ursan scenario.
- Consumables will be forbidden. Summon stones will however be allowed.
- Farming builds will be forbidden (e.g. 600/smite, Perma's). However powerful but still non-invincible builds will be fine (e.g. SoS rit, Searing flames ele).
- Players will use PvE versions of split skills. For instance players will be using Unyielding Aura as opposed to Unyielding Aura (PvP)
- ABSOLUTELY NO TITLES FOR THIS ACTIVITY. I do not now, Nor will i ever, Encourage rank hate. I know plenty of total shit players with high ranks and players with no ranks at all that are fucking kick ass. Rank has no bearing on skill. NONE.
Pro's/Con's[edit]
Pro's: This would make a fun and exciting new way for people to play PvE and would work extremely well in conjuction with my previous suggestion of the a dungeon reward system.
Con's: It would allow players content that they didn't pay for. For instance if they don't own EotN they would still have access to its' various dungeons.
