What a fail-worthy update. Waste less time on failing, ANet. GG. 99.140.204.214 02:11, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- I'm actually happy with the Defy pain split, finally no more wars that literally annoy you to death.BurrTheKing 02:14, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- @Whoru ip: Yeah, we totally aren't working on the big gvg and dervish changes they mentioned in the dev update. We spent the last 2 months twiddling our thumbs and playing musical chairs with NPCs. ~Shard 02:40, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- God damnit, I knew you were playing Musical chairs ! You and your musical chairs always. Yeen 04:00, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

defy pain[edit]
there goes my amusement from people running this in RA. :( |Cynn's Thong| 02:26, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, now it's even more useless than it was before the buff. How stupid, especially without fixing it for the "Bear Club for [Wo]Men" quests... -~=Ϛρѧякγ (τѧιк) 02:39, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- Request giving that stupid bear another elite :( Though using Sneak Attack on it is effective.--TeaCat._. 04:11, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- ...until then... just bring Ebon Escape to get out of the ring and kill the stupid thing from range so it can't get any Adren to fuel that elite. ...just don't forget to switch back to the club right before it dies... --ilr 21:18, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

I can wholeheartedly say. . .[edit]
that i love the new WiK quest, it's just the kind of non overwhelming, but fun wave-style quest i was looking for. Sonic Friday 02:56, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- It did feel a lot esier compared to the last few thats for sure...but now we gotta wait another week for something new....BurrTheKing 03:05, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
Not the greatest update[edit]
The defy pain split is fine, wasn't a huge problem but it was a problem that needed some attention. The buffs on minis, well who cares? I didn't experience this bug but i'm assuming that it didn't effect combat in any way, although this assumption is made off the top of my head because I don't remember any skills that buff a random person. Plus who doesn't want to have a mini buffed up for tanking? The NPC shift, who cares I know for sure frozen isle wasn't a problem. So it took 10 seconds to run the the mat traders, so? GG anet for another almost unneeded update. Daeheru 04:23, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- They changed the position of NPCs during GvG matches, when it actually matters. Not the traders. elix Omni 04:26, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- Also, the buffs on minis may have affected the energy gain from leadership? -- Frozzen 05:38, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- Ah ok then I didn't know that the NPCs during GvG were changed, it was never specified. I don't know how they were changed, but I'm going to assume because of the change to oath of protection, it may have been to counter splits, but I see this as a sound strategy (although I admit in the past I have observed and been in a couple of matches where it came down to the split team killing the GL and successfully did)plus if a team was at all observant the flagger could make it back to the GL to prevent it's death and eventually the split team would either be driven off or give up and help the main team. Also, like I said about the buff on minis bug, I didn't experience it but i guess it is possible that if minis could be buffed they could affect energy gain from leadership, but if that didn't happen then I still can't see a reason off the top of my head why this bug was a problem because I don't remember any skills whose effectiveness is affected by how many players are buffed. Dervish PvE/PvP/Balance Update[edit]
Spoilers: The number of remaining Mursaats have been revealed[edit]
According to Salma there are 4 mursaat more to kill (a total of seven mursaats?), and possibly the area of Saul D'alessio story will be accesible to kill the next one. Are they going to increase the size of the map to make new explorable areas? how would it affect for cartographer title or for people who already have 100% of the map? Lokheit 15:47, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- Well, from what i know catro'ing Cantha in HM, getting more than 100%, doesnt actually affect the title at all. I got 100%, then with texmod uncovered an extra 2% at least, didnt change my title. Sonic Friday 15:48, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) If they've thought it through, they'll probably make it a hidden area, similar to underground areas in Nightfall. If not, meh, Tyria is a big place anyway. -- FreedomBound 15:50, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- A new area roughly the size of North Kyrta (possibly the largest) would only increase Tyria by 2% b/c it's already so frikkin huge. And expanding the area needed for title would penalize anyone who doesn't own EotN b/c you need Zinn's Trial to trigger Livia's arrival to access some of these previous covert missions. --ilr 22:20, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
Pvp[edit]
Damn. This shit changes everything on amount of damage you need to bring on a split. btw wtf does 30 less damage each second mean? The Emmisary 17:03, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- So you're a ranger hitting the guild lord. Your first attack does 45 damage, but it's reduced to 30. You're next attack only does 30, but it's reduced to 0 because lol 30 less damage each second. However, chaining skills with one person or having multiple people hit at once will go over that, meaning something like Lightning Surge+Lightning Orb will hit for 2 packets of 30. Life Guardian 17:16, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- I was thinking of something more along the lines of like the damage that illusion of pain or savannah heat does each second, then with oath of protection that's reduced by 30. Didn't think about if there were multiple people attacking him. Life Guardian's statement could also be true though, I haven't gotten the chance to test it. Daeheru 21:11, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- I would guess that it absorbs 30 damage and the damage prevention gets renewed every second, meaning you have to hit for 30 or more damage plus another hit in under a second in order to deal any damage. That's based on what they said about encouraging larger-scale attacks on the GL, but then again it's Arenanet. -~=Ϛρѧякγ (τѧιк) 23:21, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
- Guess it's time to test it then, if no one already has or has done gvg since the update and can comment on oath of protection? Daeheru 05:00, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
