You left out Flourish as well as Quickening Zephyr. Lou Wolfskin 13:31, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Unless this list is incomplete, I haven't left out any skill; rather, I have limited my list to the skills which change a large number of other skills (which is why Keystone Signet isn't mentioned) in a meaningful way (which is why Quickening Zephyr isn't mentioned). Erasculio 14:30, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
Well i just pointed it out, i don't understand why these skills need to get out of the game anyway. All of them have some kind of drawback, or they're elite which makes them limited in use. Lou Wolfskin 16:12, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Wait....why would Anet care about this? These skills mostly affect PvE only, and they don't really break anything in the game (like being invincible or anything). So, why would it matter? Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 16:16, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Because you could make Deadly Arts a viable and balanced line if you didn't have to worry about Deadly Paradox making the bar unbalanced all over again. This isn't an effort to fix anything major going on right now, it's an effort to allow ANet more room to breathe when making balance changes. -Auron 16:19, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
Well, if Deadly Arts is the issue why don't you focus on suggestions for Deadly Arts? Lou Wolfskin 17:24, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
That wasn't Auron's point. The point was that it could make balancing GW easier.....probably more boring....but easier. Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 17:26, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
Still the only skill on that list i see abused is Deadly Paradox and that one skill surely should not be the cause of a nerf for all skills that affect skillrecharge or castingtime in one way or the other, some of these skills never see use Glyph of Essence for example, i've never seen someone use Glyph of Renewal too i'm pretty sure. And that they could, in some way, lead to a gimmick build...well, every skill could be abused at some point in the future, let's remove all skills from the game or what? Lou Wolfskin 22:59, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
I was going to respond seriously here, but then I realized this person must be a troll. Nobody could make logic leaps like that and continue pretending they know anything about game balance. -Auron 11:06, 26 January 2010 (UTC)#
Actually i'm taking the arguments stated that these skills could lead to a gimmick build and therefore need to be nerfed now to it's next extend. And still the only abused skill in the whole list would be Deadly Paradox if i'm not mistaken. Lou Wolfskin 14:19, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
Take a look at Aura of the Lich for example. On its own, it does nothing. But if 7 people use it in conjunction with Echo and Mimicry, shit happens. Koda User Koda Kumi UT.jpeg Kumi 19:00, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
And there's been some talk about that, making a limit to how many ppl of the same class can join a PvP-Party would balance that better than destroying more and more skills. The problem with those gimmick builds is mostly not a skill or two it's how many ppl at the same time use them, isn't it? Lou Wolfskin 00:52, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

I apologize for my stupid post here. Lou Wolfskin 09:31, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Maybe for PVP i dunno but as far as PVE goes builds should be able to put on decent consistant dmg not just spikes so reducing skill recharge is a good and necessary tactic. I also fail to see how AM not being able to steal an Avatar is a bad thing, Avatars are ment to be Dervishes unique feature, besides even if you could steal it you still couldn't use an Avatar without being a dervish... so your saying a Wounding Strike avatar would be more balanced than AM just not being able to steal forms?Dinsy Jin 11:54, 07 February 2010 (GMT)

I can definately agree with arcane echo, and arcane mimicry. There should be no way to get two elites without an elite or getting a really lucky steal with larceny. They aren't used much but their mere existence hampers balancing decisions. Echo should stay. You're using an elite to get a copy of a non-elite. Might matter in PvE, but nobody cares about PvE balance. Mantra of persistence should also stay, as removing it would require rebalancing the entire illusion line so it doesnt' suck.
