Why kill it for other people, when all you need to do is screw Permasins? Some people forget that when you raise the Power Creep, people who don't want to use Power Creep are getting fucked. About the rewards, I agree; they're far from prestigious, even if farming ceased. Titani User Titani Ertan chrome.png Ertan 13:54, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

I can see why you would be worried about power creep, but the simple fact is Tombs is completely out of date. This isn't just because elementalist and rangers and monks and necromancers have gotten more powerful, it's because there are some fundamental aspects of the game that simply were not in existence when Tombs was made, the Dervish, Paragon, Ritualist and Assassin are only some of the examples. There's also all the PvE only skills, and heroes that interrupt more effectively than any human can, consumables, summoning stones, armor insignias, weapons inscriptions, etc. Even with the core professions, it's not just that some skills have gotten more powerful, it's that there are skills that were introduced in Factions, Nightfall, and GWEN that did not exist when Tombs was made. Simply nerfing permasins won't cut it.
When Tombs first came out, the most common team build included 4-5 eles equipped with echo-meteor shower and dual attunements. This was before HM and Tombs was still a bad ass elite area where only 1 in 5 of even the good teams would make it to the end. But now it's a joke, even before the sins totally took over, there were BP teams that were racing through all 3 levels in under 27 minutes flat, when it used to take the first teams at least an hour and a half. What I'm saying is, Tombs was supposed to be an area with a difficulty level on par with FOW and UW, but it's nowhere near that now, with or without permasins. I mean, the most deadly skill used by the mobs in Tombs right now is Meteor Shower. Seriously.
Maybe making Tombs more deadly is powercreep in a certain sense, but the point is that players have been power creeping for years, and Tombs was left behind. So, unless the Live Team is going to delete hundreds of skills and remove aspects of the game that have become fundamental to PvE, Tombs will remain a second-rate area at best. You make a good point, but you're also forgetting that Tombs is in Prophecies. And by renovating it, what next? Upgrade the Rotscale team, because you can solo or duo it and it's now easy as hell? Maybe buff all monsters in Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall, because of the myriad of stupid skills introduced? When published, Tombs was an elite area simply because it was the hardest and most challenging; but by todays basis, it's a dungeon. A 3 floor dungeon.
So you are correct with what you said above, but it won't fit in the GW world today. Maybe some years ago, before EotN or NF, but not today. Titani Uth Ertan 04:38, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
Even if what you say is true, that tombs should just be a dungeon rather than an elite area, tombs still needs updating. There are very few dungeons that are as easy as tombs is now. In fact, I can only think of two, Fronis Irontoe's Lair and the Secret Lair of the Snowmen, which are both intended to be joke dungeons. Tombs isn't even a dungeon now, it's a joke. I used to frequent Tombs. It was fun and challenging. But you're right; it's a joke now. It is utterly impossible to get in a group if you're not a permasin. I am in support of revamping the area to increase challenge, increase reward (dungeon chest is a perfect idea) and that increases ability of any profession to find a group (not just rangers with pets (as was the case a few years ago) or permasins). Yes please! ~Mervil User Mervil Sig.png 18:39, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
I believe this is initially best handled by feedback on Fingers of Chaos such that it affects all the professions. --Emkyooess 15:34, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Well, the suggestion goes beyond just fingers of chaos, since we are asking for a rework of the reward for the area as well, which require some new content. (Satanael | talk) 17:34, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
