Help Goren find his various items that he has hidden throughout Resplendent Makuun.

Requirements

Having chosen Norgu to accompany Midauha in Istan in the quest Brains or Brawn.

Objectives

• Accompany Goren while he finds his weapon.
• Accompany Goren while he finds his armor.
• Accompany Goren while he finds his most prized possession: a sparkling rock.
• Goren must survive.
• See Xunlai Agent Momo for your reward.

Reward

• 2,000 Experience
• Goren joins your party.

Walkthrough

This quest involves protecting Goren, a level 18 hammer warrior while he collects his belongings through Resplendent Makuun, surrounding the Bokka Amphitheatre.

His AI has two behaviors: He will follow your lead while walking through the area. But will start to rush in by himself when approaching any of the three quest marker spots. Everytime he runs alone by himself, he risks quest failure since his survival is one of the objectives. If your team set-up is not suited and need to retry, consider taking bonding skills like Life Bond to ease the job.

Escort and protect this ally while searching 3 items (his weapon, armor and a sparkling rock) to complete the quest.

Initial dialogue

Goren

"I am worried about Nightfall. I don't want the world to get destroyed. It's where I keep all my stuff. Maybe I could bash some things and keep my stuff safe. I used to bash things for Bokka. He'd yell and I'd make people get out of the way. Bokka always took good care of me. If you help find my stuff and keep it safe...you know...in case the world gets destroyed, I'll do some bashing for you. Let's go collect my stuff!"

 Accept: "Sure we can help you get your stuff."

 Decline: "Don't worry. We'll save the world. Your stuff will be safe."

 Ask: "I keep my stuff all over the place, east and south of Resplendent Makuun. We should head there right now."

Intermediate dialogue

Goren: "I don't understand why people use the Xunlai Agents. These monsters protect my stuff just fine, and I don't have to pay them anything. Hmmm. My weapon is around here somewhere."

Goren: "Oh! That's right. It's right here."

Goren: "Some times I forget where I put things. Like my armor."

Goren: "Oh. Was it over there? That's funny I don't remember leaving it there.

Goren: "I put my most prized possession in the whole wide world somewhere around here."

Goren: "There it is! It's such a pretty rock. I like to keep it close. Pick it up and give it here."

Goren: "Now let's find a safe place for my stuff!"

Xunlai Agent Momo

"So you want to set up a Xunlai account for your oafish friend because he's afraid he'll lose his stuff when the world ends? That won't be a problem. We'll even waive the 50 gold fee this one time in consideration of all the business you have done with us.

Well, it's looks to be your lucky day. Your big brute of a friend asked me to tell you that he'll be joining you on your adventures, since you've been so helpful and generous. I believe you might find his brawn more useful than his brain, if you know what I mean."

Notes

• If you are not in a hurry to acquire Goren, it is easier to complete Gain Goren than this quest, since that quest only requires you to speak to Prince Bokka the Magnificent in Resplendent Makuun. The Gain Goren quest also awards 500 more experience than this quest.

Anomaly.Although unlocking Goren is a prerequisite for Goren's Stuff: Part 2, this quest itself is not.
