Knights of Dark Renown [KoDR]
Founded on 30th May 2006, Knights of Dark Renown has a strong core of loyal, experienced and friendly players. We have members from Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the USA ranging in age from early teens to well... much older.The alliance was founded in January of last year (2007) after the guild had decided Faction Farming and town ownership was not our thing, so we created our own alliance with no goal and no agenda other than to enjoy the game (we meet this goal on a daily basis).Both the guild and alliance are bound by a set of rules that are there to make people feel happy and safe when gaming with us.

Activities
As an alliance, we pride ourselves on the ease at which we bond with newer players. All officers are expected to help others, a trait commonly found in the members we recruit. This bond we develop allows us to host and run various events throughout the year. These events vary from a 1v1 Tournament with decent rewards to GvG to something so simple as a Birthday party in the guild hall. Some of these events use our Teamspeak servers, others we believe are better held without, maintaining the game-like feel. KoDR is currently hosting a Max-your-damage competition. Leadership
The leadership of the Knights of Dark Renown is held with a tight rein by Roseanna Beckett, and has been for over 28 months, preceding her was Umbral Blade and before that, Shadara Phoenix. Her Officers are picked, not of their titles or wealth, but of their capacity to help others, a skill worth far more than a petty penny. These officers are expected to marshal alliance chat and aid those in need, rather than solely recruit.
Rules of the alliance
As previously mentioned, the rules of the alliance are an agreement held by each other guild in the alliance. The rules are as follows:
1. Show common courtesy
2. Be willing to help other members of the guild
3. Let us know if you are going to be away for any length of time (guild rule only)
4. Do not ask us for money
5. No trade in alliance chat.
6. Avoid making racist or homophobic comments on guild chat
7. Watch your language - the occasional swear word when something bad has happened is permissable, anything more is not.
8. No guild hopping within the alliance, unless agreed to by leaders or a named officer from both guilds and myself be it temporary (to improve a guilds standing in HA or GvG) or permanent to enable restructuring.
Breach of these rules whilst as a member, or representing the KoDR Alliance will result in an immediate kick from the guild unless the basis for breaking the rules is valid. These rules are subject to change, please view the forums for the latest information on the guild rules.
The Future of the Alliance
The Decision to take the whole alliance or just KoDR into GW2 is currently undecided, however those wishing to reserve a seat in GW2 with KoDR should join up and see if they like it, before committing to KoDR in GW2. For further details, contact any of the KoDR Management in-game or via our forums.
Recruitment
Anyone is welcome to join and you will find both the guild and the alliance an excellent source of players for both normal mode and hard mode missions anywhere you wish to go and for AB, TA, HA and good old fashioned scrimmages. While all are welcome to join the guild, a guild will only be invited into the alliance if they have been personally recommended by the leader or officer of another alliance guild and then spoken with me.
