Some info about us
The Black Rose Rebellion is based in Europe, but there are a few members from outside Europe too. English is the language used in our guild- and alliance chat (but you might occasionally hear Arabic or Dutch in our guild chat, we aren't very strict concerning language when there are just a few members online) and our total member count (including leadership) is currently around 70.
We have a cape and a fully-equipped Guild Hall, a chat program and a forum: http://blackroserebels.6.forumer.com. You are most welcome to create an account and take a look around on our forums.
The Black Rose Rebellion forms GvG teams frequently, as well as groups to tackle PvE missions and challenges. We play all areas of Guild Wars, and frequently hold guild and alliance events, that we announce in-game and on the ROSE forum.
Recruitment
If you're interested in joining our guild, this link will take you to the recruitment section of our forum. We usually have applications processed within two days. You can also contact us in-game, for that, see Contact Information. We are open to everyone, we appreciate it if you're a somewhat experienced Guild Wars player, but the most important thing of all is that you are both active and social! :)
Guild history
Warning: Our history is rather a long one. If you're not really interested, feel free to skip this part ;)
Our guild has had five leaders so far: Our founder, Dark Lord Pesmerga, focused the guild on FFF, ROSE grew very quickly and we rapidly hopped from alliance to alliance, eventually reaching the top: The The Lost Saracens [TLS] alliance, at that time in charge of House zu Heltzer. If you hear any of us mentioning the "good old days", this is what we're talking about.
Eventually though, faction farming started to bore us, and we left the [TLS] alliance to start our own. We had loads of fun the first months, but after that, some of the leadership grew a bit bored of Guild Wars. A couple of reorganizations followed, and eventually the guild disbanded.
Most members didn't feel like giving up though, and we rebuilt the guild with the help of Pesmerga, who was at that time moving away from guild wars. Our new leader came to be Apples And Peaches, and with the reformation of ROSE, the guild had also become more democratic, so the leader and the officers, which we have ever since called the Leadership Group, were in charge of the guild rather than one player. After a couple of months Apples became less active and Aeolian Machina replaced him as leader.
During the time Aeolian was leader, the guild was divided in many ways. He has led us wisely for a long time, but tensions arose between the GvG-team and the other players. Leadership decided it would be best to let the GvG-team go it's separate way so our PvP-officer created a PvP-guild for the ROSE GvG-team. One of the other officers strongly disagreed with this though, and left to create her own guild. The resulting tensions made Aeolian lose interest in guild wars, and he was succeeded by me, Why Are We Fighting, after Leadership had found a suitable alliance for us to join.
I will not say much about the period I was in charge, I'll leave that to others. ROSE members, feel free to change this section of the article ;) All I'll say is that I think during my reign the relationships with the split-guilds has improved much, and that ROSE now really has gone it's own way, unbound by the other guilds. After leading for about nine months, I passed on my position to The Magical Malice, since my exams are getting close and I needed to move my main focus to them instead of the guild.
Malice has done a great job, further leading the guild to glory, focusing more on the social and fun aspect of the game. He has led ROSE until late January 2009, when he resigned. The position of Guild Leader was passed on to Pray For Peace by voting among Malice and the officers.
Pray For Peace has shifted the focus of the guild from mainly PvE-orientated to true PvX -- since a long time ROSE has resumed serious daily GvG, and the guild managed to bring our rating back to 1000+ from the all-time low of 870 -- and proves to be a talented leader. I myself have become a bit less active, but I have absolute confidence in the Guild and its current leadership. Recently our guild has started recruiting again, and we are still taking in new members. If you want to join, feel free to contact one of our officers. — Why
