PUP Today

Former first string Anima Evasen is still in charge of the guild, and occasionally invites friends to have a fun GvG for old times sake.

After toying around with the idea, [PuP] plans to remake upon the release or possibly even beta of Guild Wars 2. Many core members have pledged that they will come if called to participate in the new guild.

In April 5, 2013 Bboy Darkness(which is now Sora Nini in Guild Wars 2) decided to raise the [PuP] flag in Gate of Madness server. seeking for players to share the joyful experience we had in Guild Wars 1 into

Guild Wars 2

Core members pledging their return:

Syl

Ice

Chantelle

Foxy

Anima

Bboy(Sora Nini in Guild Wars 2[Gate of Madness])

Likely to return but haven't formally specified:

Craze

Becca

History

PuP formed in November 2005 as a group of players who were in an argument with their current leader of how the guild should be run abandoned their old guild and leader. Starting out with a simple build, ranger spike, the players took a spot in the Guild Wars Guild Battle ladder. As time went on, the guild kept most of its core, but lost members here and there across the next six or so months. The tactics and play styles of the guild grew and grew until they were at one time rank 16 on the Guild Battle ladder. After the player who hosted their Ventrilo server quit Guild Wars, the guild was sponsored by a public Ventrilo server with a free 5 channel package. In an online 'terrorist' attack against the owner of the Ventrilo server by a few administrators from another popular Guild Wars Ventrilo server, PuP members were spammed in a Denial of Service attack during a high ranked battle. After losing the match because of this error, PuP could not seem to recover itself on the ladder, falling to around rank 350. About a month later, the guild started to fall apart. Ironically, around this time, PuP was nominated and awarded Guild Of The Week. A month after this, a few members left Guild Wars for other games such as World Of Warcraft, and others left to study better for college. Since this time, PuP has tried to reform three times, failing each time because of losses on the Guild Battle ladder. However, PuP is on its fourth reformation attempt, and this time they are having tremendous success with the ladder, often winning 7 matches in one day while losing none or very few.

The [PuP] Guild was run for some time by former 1st string Mesmer Anima Evasen, and is mostly run for fun GvG matches, getting players who aren't experienced in GvG some new experience. During this time, several core members kept in contact outside of the game, not wishing to relinquish friendships forged inside the game.

We Step On Puppies [PuP]

Hi there, I am Ice from We Step On Puppies. We are a PvP oriented guild which formed in October of 2005, and we have kept together except for about a week when we tried merging with another guild. Our main core consists of Syl (our leader), Anima (our main mesmer, who has gained about 8 million experience on his mesmer), Tree Spear (one of our best warriors and one of our best monks as well - a solid player), myself (I have been our main flag runner due to my ability of somehow getting out of tight situations such as 8 people trying to body block me), and Chantelle (who is another of our best monks). These players are our main core because we were some of the first in the guild back in October 2005. Since then, we have picked up many more great players, who include Soni, Graeme, Tayshun, and DVD. There are really too many to count, and we have bonded with each other. We share a vent server with some other guilds, and our leader and I are admin on it. On the vent server is where we get to know each other best, and nearly half of our guild is built of European players (we would declare ourselves an international guild if we had the option). I could ramble all day about how much fun we have, but I'll get to the listing of qualifications.

Website - I am the main administrator of our site, and we also have a forums built in which I will get to later.

Standing with the community - We are quite active on Guild Wars Guru and Guild Wars Online. I am much more active on Guru, where we once posted an April Fool's joke. We got Power Of My Rangers to come to our hall, do the phoenix emote over anima's head, and run away. It appeared as if Anima was doing the rank 12 emote and we passed him off as the "next" American rank 12 until the day was over. We also provide services such as PvP training, where we teach people how to run premades and custom builds for a small charge of gold. Anima also does 1v1 mesmer dueling with the scrimmage feature, which is mainly publicised by Guild Wars Guru. By the way, Anima has just informed me on vent that he has gotten some pepsi, and Soni mentioned that she is eating chips with some salsa she made. Haha. No I won't tell you the recipe.

At the time of writing, we have 26 members. However, only about 15 of these are GvG qualified with us.

We have a cape with a big paw on top of a bunch of little paws, and our guild hall frequently changes. We have had all the traders unlocked since about the first week of factions preorder release.

As I said earlier, our guild hall is interlinked with our forums. You can check it out here. http://s13.invisionfree.com/PuP_Guild I have registered you a name so you can log in with member status. Name: ArenaNet Password: [removed] Our rank hasn't been so hot lately, at the time of writing we are only ranked 150 (exactly 150). Since almost all of our members have played since about the Original Prophecies Beta release, we consider ourselves a bit better. Our lowest ranking on any ladder was 16 or so. <...saved a draft and came back 6 hours later...>

Our rank is now about 120, after shortly dipping back under 100.

As to recognition in the community: Lower ranked (top 100) guilds have heard of us and most of their players are good friends with ours, whereas higher ranked guilds may have never heard of us. Due to a good bit of activity on fansites (and people we've beaten), we are recognised by quite a few other players as well.

I would have to say our attitude is very positive, especially with all the jokes and fun we have with the community. Our name attracts attention, usually starting the match with something like "omigosh that's so mean" as a joke from the other team. Our usual response is "We Stand Higher because We Step On Puppies! biggrin.gif" Although sometimes we just ignore it when we're being very serious to get rank and champion points. When we faced Idiot Savants [iQ] today, we had about a 2 minute conversation with them before we fought in the match talking about which players each of our teams had, and saying things such as "gl hf".
