The Guild Wars Guru Cup was a special GvG event. There were 4 different divisions, Casual Division, Bronze Division, Silver Division and Gold Division. All divisions were played at different times. The Casual Division was aimed at guilds that were new to GvG and had a rank of 1000<. The Bronze Division was aimed for guilds that had some GvG experience and had a rank of 300-1000. The Silver Division was aimed for relatively good GvG guilds that had a rank of 100-300. The Gold Division was designed for the top-tier GvG guild that had a rank to 1-100.
