Inscribable

Inscribability or an inscription slot is an inherent property of some weapons which allows them to accept inscriptions. The system was introduced with Guild Wars Nightfall.
- Inscribable weapons drop
- in Nightfall, as loot drops from foes and all chests,
- in Guild Wars Eye of the North, as loot drops from foes and all chests,
- in Factions, only from the Kanaxai's Chest and Urgoz's Chest, reward chests which spawn after completing The Deep and Urgoz's Warren,
- in core areas
- from the Chest which spawns after winning a PvP battle in the Hall of Heroes,
- from the Zaishen Chest in Isle of the Nameless
- from the Underworld Chest and Chest of Woe, reward chests which spawn after completing The Underworld and Fissure of Woe.
The introduction of inscribable versions of a weapon has led to confusion, as it is not immediately obvious whether a weapon has an inscription slot or not. The text "Inscription: None" or "Inscription: <Inscription name>" in the weapon description reveals that an item is inscribable. If the description does not contain this text, the weapon cannot be inscribed.
Notes[edit]
- Weapons without inscription slots are almost always called "old school" or "OS" weapons in the trade channel.
