Talk:Arah
Livia GW2?[edit]
With this it's more than likley she'll come back more than likey corrupted by Orr and leading the undead unless she uses it for good, heck maybe she controls the Dragon...or becomes it Zachariah Zuan. 16:35, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
The Dragons existed (dormant) LONG before Livia and EoTN even Prophecies, so shes not the dragon and she resists the urge to take it so im going to say...no.--Lord randy taylor 20:13, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
The revert...[edit]
Zhaitan, and the other elder dragons, are GW1 lore (excluding their awakening and after). Zhaitan, while not named, is referenced in GW1 as well. As for the source: Regarding Sohothin and Magdaer, gw2:The Movement of the World does affect GW1 lore, just as Linsey has said in the past that GW2 lore will do. If we ignore lore from the Movement, then we should remove the Jormag, Kralkatorrik, and Primordus pages, despite them being mentioned/referenced and seen in the game. As for the Scepter of Orr and Staff of the Mists - the gods struck down their original wielders and sealed the staves in the wielders' tombs, and since the location of the Staff of the Mists is next to a statue of Abaddon's head, it can be very easily deduced that it was there since ancient times (especially if the Margonites knew of it) - or in other words, before the Exodus. -- Konig/talk 12:31, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
- Regarding the Staff of Mists and Magdaer: true, The Movement of the World states that those items are from before the Exodus. This isn't the article about the Exodus, though, it's the article about Arah; and while mentioning those items could be relevant in the former, they are not relevant to the latter.
- Dirk's dialogue is the perfect example of why Zhaitan should not be considered GW1's lore: we don't know if he's talking about Zhaitan (who is part of GW2, but has never been stated as something which exists in GW1), or something else. To assume he's talking about Zhaitan is pure speculation, which should be avoided on the wiki.
- Show me a GW1 source claiming that Zhaitan is sleeping under Orr, and I'll add the note back on this article myself. gw2:The Movement of the World, as its current residency on the GW2W shows, is a GW2 source. Erasculio 12:44, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
- How is something from Arah not relevant to Arah but is relevant to something which has no connection other than a very large time frame (before the Exodus!=related to the Exodus)? Regarding Dirk's dialogue, of course he is talking about Zhaitan - he's over Arah, where Zhaitan is sleeping (it doesn't need to be a GW1 source - it's a Guild Wars Source 1 or 2 doesn't matter with lore, especially topics like this which influences both time periods), and there's nothing else there except a sunken city and some corsairs. What else would be trying to swallow the light of the world but Zhaitan who has been said that his goal is to destroy all life. Even Nicholas has referenced Zhaitan (through Durmands' theory on the Decayed Orr Emblem). -- Konig/talk 12:49, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
- "How is something from Arah not relevant to Arah": from the Movement of the World, "Adelbern used the final power of his enchanted sword, Magdaer, a relic from the age when the True Gods walked Tyria and built the city of Arah". That's the only mention of Magdaer's origin; and since it does not state Magdaer is from Arah, rather that it's from the time before the Exodus, it's at best only relevant to the Exodus, not relevant to Arah.
- "Regarding Dirk's dialogue, of course he is talking about Zhaitan - he's over Arah, where Zhaitan is sleeping": there's no GW1 source for that. There's also no GW1 source for claiming "there's nothing else there". Erasculio 13:04, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
