Special?[edit]

There are twice to Bone Fiends without degen in Jaga Moraine, guarding the path to Avarr the Fallen. The Bone Fiends near him have degen, but seem to be exploited per norn corpses Zerpha The Improver 21:07, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

They may have been summoned by dwarves. Where there dwarves in the area? There are some parties that appear randomly when Kilroy is in the area. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 14:51, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
There are non-minion Bone Fiends in Eye of the North, they are basically Rangers with no skills and a Bone Fiend skin. They can be found near some Necro bosses, like Avarr and Murakai. They are not considered animated undead by the game engine. - User HeWhoIsPale sig.PNG HeWhoIsPale 14:55, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
but how do you know they are rangers? They are ranged attackers, yes. But does that automatically say they are rangers? They could also be paragons. And the minions aren't rangers as well. I suppose they don't have any class. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 14:25, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
They drop Ranger Tomes in hard mode. --24.179.151.252 15:56, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
alright, then it's definite :P —ZerphatalkThe Improver 23:33, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Non-Degenerating Bone Fiends[edit]

In HM[edit]

I Think they were lvl26, this may be noted in the article. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 18:32, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Can you control them?[edit]

I know that Avarr can't use Dark Bond or similiar to them. I think this is because he is only allied with them, and they are not his "real" minions. But: can you get control of them with skills like Verata's Aura or Verata's Gaze? Well, i almost doubt it, as Avarr also uses Verata's Aura, and it would be weird to get control of a foe that can drop items :D —ZerphatalkThe Improver 18:32, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Minion master[edit]

moved from Talk:Bone Fiend (minion)

I would have to say the following statement "Bone Fiends are often the preferred minions of a Minion Master" is an opinion, and should be removed or reworded. In my my experience when I'm running a MM, I don't use them. Almost all of the MM's I've played with don't use them either, however, I'm sure there are MM's that do. I don't think you could prove these are the preferred minions. -Drakora 15:46, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Re-worded. ··· cedave 16:16, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Ok, I like that wording better. -Drakora 16:52, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Engagement Range[edit]

This is my first post so if I make any mistakes, please let me know. So I was wondering, what exactly is the range of Bone fiends?71.234.86.225 21:57, 12 September 2009 (UTC)AceKevin8412

I think they're at shortbow range or slightly less then that. --User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 22:00, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Should it be added to the page? 71.234.86.225 15:12, 13 September 2009 (UTC)AceKevin8412
I always thought that they had half-range. Needs to be tested for confirmation either way. ··· Danny Pew Pew 19:51, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
I have just tested it in Churrhir Fields. I killed one of the Eboga Roots and animated a bone fiend. I then took that bone fiend to the archery targets, the three that teach you about bow ranges. I found that the bone fiend definitely fires at half range. --La Visiteuse 22:45, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

Conflagration?[edit]

Nothing mentioned of Conflagration and Greater Conflagration changing the projectiles appearance and damage type. I can't figure out if Favorable Winds changes the projectiles speed. Looks like no difference when I tested. 97.87.121.241 13:21, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
