Why is this listed under Trophies? --Affian 10:45, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Because it can only be obtained in exchange for trophies, specifically skale fins. Anon-e-mouse 22:03, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Pre-Searing Note[edit]

Okay, I realize the population of Guild Wars players who do not know of pre and post is extremely minimal, but it is existent, there is no denying that. I honestly would be heartbroken to find a players such as this stumble across this page, and have that whole concept ruined for them. Generally speaking, don't we put spoiler notices on any information such as the pre/post transference? And honestly, I don't see the point of putting a spoiler note just because of a note such as this one. So it leaves me to wonder if it's even worth listing. As a thought, could we not just state that Skale Fins from prophecies all together will not be accepted, and just omit the pre factor? Would this not still be true? User Ryuu R.jpg Ryuu - talk 02:56, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Since Skale Fins are only available in pre searing I think it's safe to say it in the note. There are references to pre-searing all over this wiki, and not all of them are marked or considered spoilers. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 03:01, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
That's my point. If they're only available in pre searing, why bother specify the difference? Although I understand your lack of concern for the spoiler matter as I do, for it is indeed very hard to contain, I'd like to keep it as a minimum. Since the note remains true even if you don't specify it's within pre, I (Echo), once again, see no harm in changing it to this. Removes any possible spoiler, and hardly breaks anything. I don't see any point to removing the reference to pre searing in the note. If they follow the link, it will take them to the pre-searing item page that says... this item is from pre-searing. It simply saves a click, and eliminates any confusion right from the start. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 03:08, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
If that's the case, why don't you just state that Skale Fins collected from any other campaign aren't accepted? User Ryuu R.jpg Ryuu - talk 03:10, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Incomplete, superfluous, and wrong information[edit]

I have noticed that nowhere does it mention how long the effect lasts once you eat one of these. emesis 60.228.242.148 06:42, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

Also, the page is meant to be all about Skalefin Soup, not Keiran Thackeray. The page duplicates information that exists on another page which is about,... Keiran Thackeray. I think it is enough to say what you get when you trade it in to him, just like the majority of collector information included on other pages. emesis 60.228.242.148 06:41, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

The Keiran Thackeray information is incorrect. The page lists him as a collector, which indeed he is, but more specifically he offers a quest from which you can obtain rewards. You cannot use him as a collector all the time, or if you don't have the quest (or for that matter; the prerequisites for the quest). emesis 60.228.242.148 06:50, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

  • Anyone can update the article to include duration.
  • For better or worse, the wiki has decided that it wants to show collector details from the collector's own page. You can propose that the policy be changed.
  • Whether Keiran is a collector is a good question. When parcels and junk bags were introduced, the argument was that he was collecting stuff, so he should be a collector. Now that people see that he only collects once per character, it might be a good time to reclassify him as a quest-giver who offers a collector-like service during the quest. I would probably support that, if the idea was brought up on his talk page. 75.37.16.136 07:41, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
The Skale Vigor page mentions the duration of the effect and is linked to in this article's template. --Silver Edge 07:49, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
