this skill would have been as annoying as funny...just imagine the AB "phantoms" :D...but i think this would maybe also have been exploited in pve... —ZerphatalkThe Improver 12:45, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Must be like Feign Death. Anon

Anet could have easily balanced this skill...think of a non-elite Shadow Form. Or maybe this skill inspired SF to begin with...67.191.245.177 15:50, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

You disappear for 10 seconds, you cannot deal damage with attacks and all your Spells fail. or You disappear for 10 seconds, you deal 75% less damage with Spells and Attacks. 87.189.198.138 19:36, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

skill icon only thought up by gw fan?[edit]

When using w:Cheat Engine, i only see the "ring skill icon", as it is used for StormcallerZerphatalkThe Improver 01:40, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

This ring seems like some reference to Lord of the Rings' Ring. Halogod35 05:21, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
You should be able to find it in gw.dat. Backsword 08:20, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Cheat Engine'd it - doesn't actually seem to be a Mesmer skill. ~Seef II <|۞> 20:58, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Oh, you're right! We supposed it to be a Mesmer skill due to the previous icon, which was likely made up by a fan. (I still suppose it to be a Mesmer skill, but this could also have been intended to be used for some special game machanic during a mission... —ZerphatalkThe Improver 19:38, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Echo + Disappear= Ghostly god player.

OKAY I AM SICK OF THIS BS! this skill is not unique to any profesison. i have run it through realtime debuggers and packet sniffers (not for hacking or cheating purposes) and i have compared it to old .dat files that i have archived. this skill is not unique to mesmer profession and its effects can still be seen 1:1 in code in the gmae via dying as an avatar and spawning at a res shrine and being invisible. it has the same grpahical glitch coding as an alpha transparency as using chaos glovwes and an eternal shield it jsut cancels you out. many players have seen that bug on their dervishes as well. so for this being historical content it still is technically relevant to the game as todays standards. dissapear is an old mechanic, that is still here but is not used for anything but it can till be recreated today via non mesmer ways. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User: 24.77.253.253 (talk).

Wow... you don't have to take it so personally. Chill. Ailina 02:34, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Incubus[edit]

Since when could incubi use this skill? Last I checked they could only use soulrending shriek. o.O Silavor UserSilavorSigIcon.png 06:50, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

They do fly up and disappear into dungeon ceilings, but I do not know if they actually use this skill. For sure, they don't physically use it, but it could be something passive (and so it could be a different, yet similar, skill). Mango 16:25, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
This has a 1-second casting time, though, so you'd be able to see the Incubi use it. I doubt they use this or any other skill to "disappear", they probably just have scripting similar to most Wurms. 71.143.160.30 04:19, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
I think they may use this Skill Vanish, though this also has a 1 second cast time, but maybe its sort of a "passive" skill, who knows. 12:52, 06, August 2008
I think that mechanics-wise, they just do what wurms do while burrowing. I've seen minions chase them when they were gone, which I think might be a glitch in and of itself, but I see that with wurms sometimes.

Disappear[edit]

Disappear was a mesmer skill, and it was used before the game was released, what it did was it would make you vanish off the MINI-Map, not off the game itself. Still that can be heavily exploited in ab, youd probably be called a noob for not using disappear. --Chase Payne 06:49, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

It's only ten seconds, what kind of harm could this have done in AB especially when you can just Ctrl-look when coming up on a shrine? Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ аІiсә User Aliceandsven 1.png ѕνәи Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ 04:17, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

How is that not a...[edit]

Lord of the rings reference? A ring that makes you disapear..... mmmmmmm

It's not a ring that makes you disappear. The ring is the default icon for most unimplemented skills, which is to say, ones that have no icon. That's like saying the rectangle that appears in fonts that can't display certain characters is a reference to Euclidean geometry. | 72 User Seventy two Truly Random.jpg (UTC) 21:54, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Well, if I'm not mistaken, skills were originally powered by the use of rings in the first place, and that was the explanation for "equipping" a limited number of skills; only so many fingers. I still doubt the reference, the power of pseudo-invisibility could be inspired anywhere, and the ring stuff applied to all the older skills. --Kyoshi (Talk) User Kyoshi sig.png 21:56, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
