Maybe make a disambig page for this instead? as people often abbreviate ecto with e -- C4K3 20:55, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

I messed alittle around with my sandbox and decided to change this page to have a otheruses thing on it, without changing the elementalist page, sadly i couldnt get it to simply copy the elementalist page over here, untill i for fun made a redirect page in my sandbox that redirected to elementalist and then had this page go to it -- so i decided to leave it like that, if anybody knows how to do it without my userpage please change it that way, but i couldnt figure it out -- C4K3 16:06, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

(Edit conflict x2) E for Elementalist is probably the more common usage of the term, so an otheruses on Elementalist leading to Ectoplasm would be better, keeping this as a redirect (although I guess I don't have a problem with using disambig - ugly or not, it's still disambiguating the term). Transcluding your sandbox (or even the Elementalist page) isn't a good idea - for one, the page title is incorrect.

Effort is appreciated, but that doesn't necessarily negate any objections. Often carrying out a proposal can get people to voice their opinions (just as what happened here), so it all works out in the end :P -- Brains12 \ talk 13:06, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

I would say people more often say "Roll an ele" than "Roll an E", but "100k + 10e" is very very common. I think working out the what the +10e is from context is also more difficult so in my opinion a disambig is more appropriate here, even though it breaks the whole A,W,R etc redirect concept. Diambig pages are looking ugly to me, that's why ^^ And if 'I' would look for the Ecto or Rank page, I would type ecto or rank. But when looking for Elementalist I would type E because that's what is used ingame. I'd hate having to click on the disambig page to end up at the Elementalist when I clearly would never search for ecto when typing 'e'. Hmmm, I'd rather have the 'otheruses' on top of the Elementalist page, same for Ranger and such. If one would search for the meaning of say 'E', they would end up at the Elementalist page (which wouldn't make sense in 100k+10e) but would also see the 'otheruses' on top of the page. --Arduinna 13:32, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Uhhh, people are missing the point, if you knew e = ecto you wouldn't be searching for e, but if you didn't know what e meant and ended up on elementalist you would be very confused. The E=Elementalist in game kind of reinforces my point, it's so self evident I doubt anyone would search for it not knowing what it was. Misery 18:03, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

In Tomb of the Primeval Kings it says "Tombs" redirects here. For the Global PvP Tournament that used to be held at this location, see Heroes' Ascent. so adding that to elementalist as somebody said, would be a possibility, and i think thats the standard for it, but i just think it would be stupid to edit the actual elementalist page just for that C4K3 20:01, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Another example is SS. In my opinion Spiteful Spirit is the only thing people ever refer to using SS, but I mostly PvP and I know people say SS/LB farming, so Sunspear is acceptable too, but people always want to add their niche abbreviation too. Misery 06:32, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

I think the Disambig page is fine... if people want elementalist they either have to click the link from disambig or can type ele for a redirect, or can type elementalist.... it's not like the elementalist page is lost... MrPaladin talk 13:11, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
