This skill wasn't bad before the buff. Are we now supposed to use this in PvP or w/e. I don't get it tbh. Readem (talk*gwwcontribs) 23:34, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- It's a much more viable PVP skill now, in my opinion. I tested it out in RA, and it's great for keeping a nearly-constant speed boost, and the blocking lets you bypass pesky Warriors/Dervishes/Assassins on your way to their Monk or other soft casters. You can't keep it up indefinitely, but you can keep it up enough that it's very viable. - Vermain 18:15, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
- It was viable on a PvE Runner. A Speed Buff Elite isnt going to get viable in PvP. Now it's not viable in PvE either. And RA isnt PvP. 84.136.236.177 18:17, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
Its extreemly viable for "evasion tanking"(name from WoW build). Before this aparent buff you would have to pack shield stance/defensive stance/escape to get the 75% constant buff, and then theres no reason in rolling ranger. I havn't played in a week so I have yet to take a bite outa this. But try using this with shield stance, to get a constant 75%stance. Halabala Opolis 5:36, 16 August 2007.
Keep in mind, it was originally used mainly for runners; Dodge > Zojun's Haste > Escape. With this buff, you can still do that, the order just changes slightly... Dodge > Escape > Zojun's Haste > Escape > and repeat. Constant 33% speed buff, dodge bonus of near-75% constantly... I orignally used Natural Stride for running, but with the superior dodge bonus, coupled with the fact that you can get hexed with this and not lose it... I may switch over. For me, Escape is finally worth using... -- Jioruji Derako.> 04:14, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- it was worth other than running, now its nerrrrrrfed. 7 September 2007 (CDT)
- 4secs of down time for 33ims and 75block and people are still whining? 23:20, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed... It clearly is supposed to be a runner/escape skill, not one that you maintain indefinately on your character... -- Frozzen 23:29, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- My favorite is Escape plus Dash, 50% ims for 3 seconds, 33% ims for 8, and they both recharge each other. Great for running amber in Fort Aspenwood, as well as quick runs in low-lvl areas (ie Piken -> Grendich -> Yak's). ~ Da Si 04:55, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- I think that Escape should be more like Charging Strike... Possibly being able to be maintained indefinetly, however ending upon hitting with an attack or spell, limiting it soley to retreating from battle.76.174.38.191

Escape isn't imbalanced.Frontliners ONLY use defensive elites when they don't need or have an offensive one. Sway ppl don't need an elite because they already have all the damage, DW, and enchant removal they need.72.223.77.197 01:40, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
How comes i cant edit the main page? All i wanna say is that u can use it w/ Dwarven Stability for a constant upkeep! --204.186.126.145 20:23, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- You can edit it. I just removed it because it's like saying for all Illusion Magic hexes that Mantra of Persistence is good. --JonTheMon 20:24, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

- If they go to the Stance page and check out Stance#Skills_increasing_stance_duration, they'll see it there. --JonTheMon 20:49, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thats surprising considering me n my friends have been using this wiki for years n i've never seen that page. Also considering the fact that gwen is a lot more recent and some people havnt gone out and obtained all of the skills there. The reason is i just wanna make people lives SOOO much simpler by just puttin in ONE more sentence that will help them tremendously... Sorry for pissin of the already po'd douche that has no life but constantly monitoring the wiki 24/7! i hope they do pay u at least minimum wage, just ask for a raise and u'll get it ;D --ChuckieReturns2 22:41, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Fix Escape[edit]
And Lightning reflexes. Tired of seeing R/D and R/A with lolmax expertise and lolmax weapon mastery with permanent lolblock + IAS/IMS. Every about 3rd player is playing R/A in "lowlevel" PvP now. It's no fun any more. Escape and LR give too much offense (unkitability/IAS) and defense (blocking) at the same time, allowing for the rest of the skillbar to be attack skills-only.
Fix is easy:
- This stance ends if you successfully hit with an attack.
- To compensate increase the duration by 1-2 secs.
- Then, this skill will rightfully bear the name ESCAPE (it's NOT Lightning Charge!!) and annoying Swayers go to hell.
I need not argue why R/A is lolOP compared to MB eles even. And the annoyance factor is untopped.
- Soooo, why did it take so many years for Escape daggers to become popular? Manifold 02:08, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

- Fix both. Escape should actually have a complete change since nobody uses Escape on a bow ranger. And only on frontline ranger which usually are op'ed Fox007 09:12, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Hero?[edit]
I tried putting this on one of my ranger heros and then i figured out that it wont let me.... why can i put this on my ranger heros! =P 67.209.66.77 01:53, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Nerfed! -24.98.91.215 00:02, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
- Escape nerf was ment to fix HA. But its fixed nothing. Escape will just be replaced by Assault, SoA or MoL.. The escape "fix" has only balanced one of MANY builds. User: Her_Amberness
- Well, But still.... NERFED! -24.98.91.215 00:10, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
You wonna take this outside? User: Her_Amberness
- Actually two builds: you forgot R/Ds. Also, it means that you can run a real frontline and be able to crush any R/As. TBH I would prefer my frontline to have 100AL vs physical rather than 70AL. King Neoterikos 00:13, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
- Yep!! Let's see [rawr] get gold nao! >:D -24.98.91.215 00:17, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

- I wasn't thinking about sway when I wrote my previous comment. More so to the R/A abuse HA has been recieving the past week or so.... and get off my porch. @ random stranger. User: Her_Amberness

- The problem with the dagger spam rangers wasn't how often they could attack, it was the fact that melee couldn't touch them. And, [rawr]'s been getting gold before the escape meta, what's to stop them now? 0__o ~ Chao 14:26, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
New PvE version doesn't actually block[edit]
So, just messing around in Pongmei Valley against some Kirin on a touch ranger armed with a wand/focus and Escape seems to reveal this skill doesn't actually block, leading to some pretty quick deaths via Barbs. Oops? Cirian 05:32, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
- Even if it does block the actual attack, I'm 99% sure barbs will still damage you C4K3 Talk 07:50, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
- You need to be hit for barbs to trigger. Blocked attacks won't trigger barbs. King Neoterikos 07:51, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
- I was right :) They've fixed it now anyway Cirian 21:51, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
Now They Complain[edit]
nobody cared about escape back when it was scythe rangers. but once ranger could actually deal real damage with daggers then all of a sudden it was "over powered" shouldve just nerfed death blossom IMO.68.234.77.145 22:28, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
- they did. Fox007 07:09, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
I never complained about this skill ^_^ I loved seeing r/a and waiting for the right moment to use vor or insidious parasite or Blinding surge on them. I think he meant that they should have nerfed death blossom and not escape as opposed to nerfing both. I won't mind if they bring back r/a there are so many counters it's not even funny. bug?[edit]
I've heard the PvP version only blocks melee attacks (or only blocks ranged attacks) now. I haven't tested it out yet, but I'll get back with results when I have a moment. ~ Chao 21:33, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
