Vanquish notes[edit]

Could this article either list "the right open quests" or have that line removed? It doesn't do much good to know it's possible, but not how. Miss Innocent 19:06, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm fairly skeptical of the note myself. At a max of 320 enemies (listed on the Vanquisher article) and 8 bosses, that's only 5,200 faction. You'd have to spawn a ton of enemies to reach 10,000. --Valshia 22:14, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

I just vanquished Ferndale and kill 338 enemies so there is more then 320 enemies, i'll make a list of the quests i had open if I have time

Factions Char; 252 Foes ~ 36m. Nothing particularly serious; random mob/boss did have Energy Surge and one semi-dangerous Ele Boss. Much less dense map than I thought it would be. I pretty much just scraped the edges and cleaned up the veins afterwards. --LunarRXA (talk) 22:15, 28 February 2019 (UTC)
249 foes, 36min. Couple places you can overaggro with all the fast patrols here. The map is smaller than it appears to be at first glance. Justice (talk) 09:11, 25 March 2019 (UTC)

Location of Ferndale[edit]

The description says it's south to House zu Heltzer, but there's quite a bit more to the east of it than to the south. Southeast, anyone?--85.182.3.6 14:43, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Yes, southeast. Changing now. Reaper of Scythes** User Reaper of ScythesJuggernaut1.png 16:36, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Bug?[edit]

I do this vanquish daily with my guild and we never take the "Kurzick Supply Lines" quest as it adds too many minutes to the timer and adds too little faction. However sometimes 1 to 3 groups of Luxons will still pop up and say stuff abot the quest like "Hand over the supplies" and "They didn't even send a caravan". Should this be added as a bug note? Waar Kijk Je Naar 18:25, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Oh and those popups are always at the same locations, if they pop at all. East of Wagg Spiritspeak, East of Hargg Plaguebinder and close to an Oni spawn on the route of Mungri Magicbox. Waar Kijk Je Naar 18:28, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Cartog?[edit]

Does anyone know what percentage of cartog ferndale gives, as unlike alot of other explorables it doesnt say in notes section, im trying to do cartog at same time as storyline and trying to work out if ive missed any yet, ty for any quick responses.Spark-TBa 17:53, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

I can't get this part of the map, can anyone advise? I have scraped the edge but just can't get it! -- User:Zantarel 16:39, 13 November 2014 (UTC)

Try scraping the fort aspenwood gate outpost, and then do the walk along the edge all the way upto HzH. -77.96.94.164 23:40, 13 November 2014 (UTC)

vanqing[edit]

238 foes, 1hr 3min. vanq/maping. Loads of healing and physicals here. Equip appropriatly. My recommendation is to start from aspenwood gate and take out magic box the monk first. He is one retardedly annoying monk who I wouldnt mind as a hero. Ok no, but he can spam spells on himself all day long. Interupts (even ai) are almost useless as his spells are 1/4 casts and since hes a boss...1/8 casts. I had a paragon/sos/illusion mes (me), domn mes with interupts/enchant removal, a fire ele, and a nec with cracked armor/enchant removal, and ofcoarse two other supports. We POUNDED on this guy (AFTER his party was picked off) for 2-3min straight and dumped a couple meteor showers on him in that time. Do this guy first to make sure you can kill him please! The rest of the zone was as easy as locking my paragon onto the enemy monk/rit & tossing technobabble on them, spamming ineptitude/wandering eye on the physicals and cleaning up any left overs / healer if paragon didnt kill. When you aggro the ele boss on the east side of the zone you will almost certainly get hammered by more dredge; patrols or part of the boss' mob, i dont know. Justice 07:02, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

The foes around the Ele boss are not part of his group. When aproaching from the south side, kill the first mob and wait a few seconds, the other two mob's (4 foes in total) will start moving to you leaving the ele boss alone. kill them and then use pi on the ele. Most people do this vanquish for the factions. In that case it's best to start from HzH and pick up the supply-quest (leave the supply's on the floor at the start). The completion of the quest gives extra points as well as a reasonable amount of extra foes spawning. I always do the other repeatable quest as well, and with hero's my average completion time is little less then 1 hour. Rumian 07:34, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Post-WoC content[edit]

A short dialogue between two kurzick peasants triggered today as I headed out into Ferndale from House Zu Heltzer to Aspenwood Gate (Kurzick).

Kurzick Peasant (1): "I wonder... With the Afflicted gone, will the forest begin to heal itself?"
Kurzick Peasant (2): "I am certain that it will, but the question is: what happens because of it?"
Kurzick Peasant (1): "What do you mean?"
Kurzick Peasant (2): "Think of it this way: Our people have adapted to life in these petrified woods. New life and new creatures have found their homes here. What happens when all of that changes?"
Kurzick Peasant (1): "I see your point. But there's one thing we can take comfort in. While our people may have tough changes ahead of them, it's nothing compared to the Luxons."
Kurzick Peasant (2): "When the Jade Sea thaws, the lot of them will just sink!"

Is this Winds of Change content? If so, should it be posted here? I have completed it in both Normal Mode and Hard Mode, and this was the first time the dialogue triggered. 92.32.20.127 11:08, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Bad luck, dialogue has already been documented 7 months ago here. Encounters belong just on that page and not on the ferndale page. File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.jpgChieftain Alex 16:19, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

luxons[edit]

pretty sure they will ambush you whether or not you have a quest active or not. (I've been ambushed a number of times just north and east of Hargg Plaguebinder). I'll see if I can make them spawn now. -Chieftain Alex 00:14, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

proof. -Chieftain Alex 00:36, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
Dialogue "Drop the supplies if you value your life!", same as listed at bottom of Kurzick Supply Lines#Intermediate dialogue. --Chieftain Alex 00:39, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
That dialogue appeared without the quest active? --Silver Edge 00:42, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
Yep. There is one dialogue for each group of luxons.. I reckon without the quest active maybe only one mob spawn per zone? (checked 3 areas over the space of 3 runs, only one location in one run showed me anything) -Chieftain Alex 01:40, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
Kurzick Supply Lines#Notes states "Sometimes the Luxon groups will spawn even if the quest is not in your log, though once you have completed the quest they will not spawn again." It's a confusing note since it's a repeatable quest. Does it mean (a) if you complete the quest at least once on that character, the Kurzick Supply Lines Luxon will never spawn in Ferndale unless that character has that quest in their quest log; or (b) the Kurzick Supply Lines Luxon will spawn in that instance of Ferndale until that quest has been completed? Has your Assassin character in your screenshot completed that quest before? --Silver Edge 21:01, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
I don't keep track of such quests, but in all likelihood I think that I would have done the quest (not in that same instance anyway)... because I used to quite like the echovald + recall having done the quest at least once, probably when i vqed on the assassin. -Chieftain Alex 21:05, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
Presumably if the original author of the note thought that it was noteworthy, then they meant that later instances of Ferndale won't have any random popups. (No more foes within the same instance would be common sense.. ) -Chieftain Alex 21:09, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
I'd be tempted to have the full list of luxons on both pages (ferndale + q), and possibly a link to the bug note on the Scouting page. -Chieftain Alex 21:31, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
Done. --Silver Edge 22:12, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
