Perhaps[edit]
Does anyone think this might be the Golden Gates? In Hell's Precipice (and probably every descriptive source), the Hall of Heroes is referenced as a "heaven" of sorts for brave people, so it would make sense. I just don't see why they would give it a different name here. – NuclearDuckie 03:34, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
- The Hall of Heroes isn't really called a heaven so much as it is called an afterlife. :P It's closer to Valhalla than heaven. Anyways, supposedly the Gates of Heaven are/were on Tyria (were being if they no longer exist) - my guess being Augury Rock (same structures as the Hall of Heroes), otherwise it would probably have been at the Mouth of Torment's location (Abaddon had sieged the gates, and the Mouth of Torment is where he was defeated). -- Konig/talk 04:23, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
delete[edit]
This page doesn't appear to offer any info that isn't readily available elsewhere. Mist Y (talk) 23:23, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
Restoration[edit]
This article should be restored, otherwise you can literally delete the whole Unseen NPCs category and hundreds of other articles. Sime (talk) 02:00, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- I've restored the article. Feel free to discuss if we feel it should be kept or not. Greener (talk) 04:14, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
deletion discussion[edit]
As Misty stated in the initial deletion request, this page offers no information that is not also contained in the Horde_of_Darkness quest article. I personally am against single-line lore stub articles, and feel they serve as dead-ends with no greater purpose than adding more links to an article.
a similar situation came up with the Clashing Seas article, where a single lowercase usage was construed as lore location. Gates of Heaven gets a second mention in the outpost description, and I would instead prefer to link that singular usage to Horde_of_Darkness#Dialogue, if a link is required. horrible | contribs 13:52, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- how is it like clashing seas when its capitalized and two different sources saying different things about the same event? might as well delete all lore articles like janthir if 'this page offers no information that is not also contained elsewhere' is reason enough.--35.128.192.4 16:58, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- You've misunderstood. Similar in that Clashing Seas was a stub article that didn't say anything on its own: this is a stub article that doesn't say anything on its own.
- Janthir is short, but it at least compiles information from several sources. horrible | contribs 17:40, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- you just removed 'unsourced speculation' despite it being on the second source? Lair of the Forgotten says 'It is said the lone living witness to the Margonite assault on the Gates of Heaven and Abaddon's defeat at the hands of the Five Gods still resides here'. how is that speculation? its said right there. your worsening an article just to create false merit to delete it. --35.128.192.4 18:10, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- nevermind you added it back but that just shows its from more than one source.--35.128.192.4 18:13, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- It was unsourced when I removed it. I looked around and found where it was pulled from. The article is still a stub regardless. Stubs that cannot be expanded are not sufficient to stay as an article. horrible | contribs 18:17, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- edit conflict. 'janthir is short but it at least compiles information from several sources' - but its just from Mantle Knight Franklin? and gw2 world map. remove from the nav and its just that npc linking it. i dont think we should delete it ofc just saying kinda silly to be for an article with one source and against another article with two. just cuz we know its location? also isnt a stub simply incomplete info? if it has all we know then it isnt a stub? idk i guess u know more than anyone. --35.128.192.4 18:22, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
