Talk:Highlander Woad

Has anyone seen this in game or a picture for it? Since the page is here I believe it is probably different from the Norn Woad. I am currently at Level 3 Norn Title Track so if I get Level 5 before someone posts a picture, I will. Oh and I am new so hey everyone!(So if this screws up don't crucify me!) :D AndersTheBloody 18:15, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Female that is! AndersTheBloody 18:17, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
is this dyable? ty in advance Kh1ndjal 12:17, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Yes, it's dyable, iirc :) - anja talk 13:07, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
yes it's dyable... but imo it doesn't dye very well... I dyed mine black the result was dark brown... Emp 15:12, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

We should definatly get a dye effects picture up. Red looks like pink, brown looks almost black, black looks almost brown and blue just looks plain awsome....haha but yea, we should work on getting it up there. AndersTheBloody 02:48, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

so how does this work if ur char is black? do you just get brown and browner as a default?

Fading Pattern[edit]

Does this fade from your character's normal skin color to the color of the woad (the color you set via dying), or does it fade from a generic pre-set skin color to the woad color? I hope the former? File:Esig2.jpg Eldin 02:10, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

One half will be the color you dye it, the other is whitish over your skin color (as though you had a coat of white makeup on). Fourth Horseman 02:13, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Why do females get the ugly white face?[edit]

I've been thinking about this and I don't really get it. Why do female woad patterns result in half the face becoming stark white? It doesn't really seem appropriate for a face-paint meant for war...it reminds me rather of japanese women powdering their faces for teaparties o_O I'm just confused. Why only for the female one and not the male pattern? That one looks normal, the way I'd have expected them both to be. Liselle Morrow 15:42, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Hey give the ment the blue and white and a kilt well go nuts for war. "FREEEEEDOOOMMM!!!"--User Raph Sig2.jpgRaph Come get ur Ramen Noodles! 03:12, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

I'm really annoyed at this. I wish it were half painted - half plain just like the male version. I have not purchased it because its ugly white. bleh. Very upset about that. -- RavenJWolfe Talk 04:31, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
It's pay back for all the shitty armor males have. 72.224.207.238 15:35, 8 April 2008 (UTC)CryMoar
Seriously! you can mix almost any female armor set and it looks nice so long as its all dyed the same color. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:66.235.42.101 (talk).

Reminder of a movie[edit]

Does this remind anyone else of Braveheart? -- Tarun 20:14, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Very similar to Will's. I've got my warrior a runic blade, ornate buckler, ascalon top and gladiator's bottom. All I need is the woad to complete the costume.--Hyprodimus Prime 04:35, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately the film was very inaccurate in terms of history.

Good thing they were talking about their characters being similar to the movie, and not the history. FleshAndFaith 00:35, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
for the braveheart experts here... ;) FREEEEEEEEDOMMMMM!!!!!! (and william wallace rulezz :P )

Dye Combo[edit]

Can this be dyed hot pink? Or at least a flamingo-ish pink. (by this I mean not light red or pale pink) --70.130.245.105 06:57, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Don't quote me on this but have you tried Red + Purple + Orange ? thats a very nice hot pink on my Ele armor, might work out for you? -- RavenJWolfe Talk 04:22, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Male Dyeing[edit]

I have this on my warrior dyed black on at least on my face it does dye his left side of his face white ever so slightly and in notes it says that only female's have this characteristic anyone else have this? i will be able to screen shot it on and off so someone could see it if that need be just ask. neko 03:28, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Should It be unbugged[edit]

My male ranger had the incredible luck in getting a face that glitches the woad. looks pretty terrible, like the screenshot on this article's main page. Think i have any hope of it being changed and getting to look normal?--Mor Dred 1622 02:49, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

does anyone know atleast who I can take the issue up with, cause my ranger would look sweet with this woad, but I wouldn't like to pay $15 to make it look good when it should look "unbugged" in the first place.--Mor Dred 1622 17:36, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

It makes it look awesome, in my opinion anyway! xD --Rawr 08:53, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

What color makes it pure black?[edit]

Was wonder what color would make it pure black if anybody knows? 24.16.99.43 03:05, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Black doesn't? -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 04:12, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
If by "pure black" you mean then the white half is black too, that can't be done. Black is the closest to black that you can get (I know, right?). --Aldarik 04:15, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

meh that sucks xD 24.16.99.43 23:07, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Grammar & left/right ambiguity[edit]

"All characters will have the left side of their face dyed white while wearing this item, depending on your skin tone."

... This sentence fails on so many levels. --BlueNovember 10:43, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
