Deletion[edit]

Why? -- pling User Pling sig.png 00:36, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Agreed. According to the deletion policy short articles aren't automatically subject to deletion: " Very short pages, i.e., stubs do not qualify for criterion A1 as long as they provide at least some minimal appropriate information." I think this is one of those cases. --Threid Threid's talk page 00:47, 25 December 2009 (UTC)
To clarify, I'm not opposed to or supporting deletion, I'm just wondering what the reason was for tagging because it's not automatically clear to me (and a reason wasn't provided in the tag). -- pling User Pling sig.png 00:49, 25 December 2009 (UTC)
I would like to know why as well and I disagree with the deletion. If this article is deleted, then articles like Burian needs deletion. Now I'm not saying that Burian and this page should be deleted - as they are actual parts of the game (though the later is just lore, but still of the game). There is no reason I see to delete this article, it might be a stub, but it is of something in the game. -- Konig/talk 12:57, 25 December 2009 (UTC)
Based on this, I think Reaper of Scythes is unsure of the source. In which case it would be this ("Years ago, the founder of the White Mantle, Saul D'Alessio, traveled south to the island of Janthir. It is said that those who come from this island are gifted with True Sight, the ability to see a person for who he really is."). -- Konig/talk 13:26, 25 December 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I'm sorry but i never heard of that before ;P. I'll be sure to check for sources better when I see something that I don't know. Sorry again. Reaper of Scythes** User Reaper of ScythesJuggernaut1.png 23:58, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Theory[edit]

Is it possible the island is part of the Fire Island Chain? Considering there is a major Mursaat stronghold there and it is south of Kryta it would make sense. Maybe Saul met the Mursaat in the jungle and was taken to the island to collect the Eye? 86.177.123.84 11:04, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

This was thought of before and is not unlikely. -- Konig/talk

Link to Eye[edit]

The reason I added it again was to have the relevant links close together. Just saying.--Cyberman User Cyberman Mastermind Sig.gif 20:05, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

There's no need to have multiple links to the same place. -- Konig/talk 20:23, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
I agree with that, but to me it would make more sense to have them semantically close together so you don't have to scan the entire article if you look for something specific. Personally, I'd rather not have the first link but have it linked in the "see also" section.--Cyberman User Cyberman Mastermind Sig.gif 06:20, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
See also sections are meant for articles related to the article in question when there are no links to said related articles prior. E.g., Mursaat and Tablet of Janthir on this page. -- Konig/talk 19:08, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Location (GW2 says otherwise)[edit]

I know that in GW1 it is said to be south of Kryta, but in-game screenshots of GW2's map say otherwise. http://i40.tinypic.com/2n01stc.jpg (top left) --Tloch14 21:17, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Technically speaking, Franklin only said Saul traveled south. There is a chance that Saul went through a mursaat teleporter to reach the island. Konig/talk 00:07, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
Possible exploration area in GW2 for Mursaat encounter..?--83.20.60.165 02:14, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
Very much possible, though I doubt in initial release. Konig/talk 02:59, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
Or maaaybe he travelled all the way AROUND the world …! In any case it looks like the island will have more significance in GW2, which can only be a good thing. – NuclearDuckie 11:20, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
Considering that 90% of the island is off the map, I don't see much significance outside a handful more of Franklin-sized comments (and a lot more teasing than the island in GW1). Konig/talk 17:25, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
