Talk:Keg farming
Is this really needed? Should be reworked if so. 88.148.212.92 12:49, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
- In my mind thsi is the stuff PvX wiki is for... I think the page is needed jsut because it is a common term these days but it should redirect to farming and be added as a comment there... MrPaladin talk 12:51, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

- I'll let it sit over the weekend to see if theres more comments before moving it... MrPaladin talk 13:04, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
- I do think it should stay, because it is a common term. I mean, we have pages for RageQuit and Kurdick. Why not? Baurus Ironballs 14:30, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Well...I just made this page so people can refer to it. It was the first page I made and I tried to make it professional (fail), but if it may be accessed more times if it's sent to the farming page so I don't mind. I also would appreciate if people helped out and made this page better, and if a picture was added showing the route.Wkuser 20:54, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm neet and with routes and stuff it may work... I see theres alreadya perma sin page already on the wiki and thats as far as we need to go for a build (with the comments you already have)... we can instead put a link in farming with a comment to here if it is all nice and neet... MrPaladin talk 20:58, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
- i say delete the page as its no longer a viable way to farm. and like Paladin said, its more for pvx wiki. besides, this was pretty much just an exploit, and having it on the official wiki seems to be promoting it, which isn't good imo. course, im also against having Kurdick and Suxon on the wiki too.. 71.59.135.73 00:31, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
- Welcome to the wiki, IP. This page lists an important and now historical method in Guild Wars. The way you say it it's like opening a dictionary and not finding the word "penis" even though it exists. -- Karasu (talk) 09:09, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the welcome, though im not new. just felt the need to speak my mind. too lazy to bother with an account. I don't see this as an "important" method in GW. it was one that worked, but it honestly didn't revolutionize anything, say the way perma itself or 55 did. it was a method that abused the lack of downtime of the kegs, which was really a bug, and having this page (imo) is kinda like promoting bug abuse, just like having the other things mentioned promotes even more derogatory phrases. and by your logic, if we have one thing like this, then we should add in everything else too. so lets go ahead and add a page about when anet fucked up and people were allowed to fight Mallyx without completing the quest first. or taking your post character into pre. maybe even being able to kill Shiro without doing half the game first. Lets make a page for each of these because they were "important and historical methods in Guild Wars". and if you cant find penis in the dicktionary, your just not looking 'hard' enough. <had to be said 71.59.135.73 01:31, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

Maps and formatting needed[edit]
I redid the wording and will link to here from farming... Can someone slap up some maps of the routes, then we can clear up the route wording MrPaladin talk 21:34, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Tyvm for cleaning it up. I'm not sure how to insert a picture into the page, so if anyone can insert a picture with the route it would be very helpful. I will also try to add a video guide in the notes section.Wkuser 00:54, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
- Even more cleaning up done by wiki members, the artcile looks much better and reads well... MrPaladin talk 16:55, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
- What do you guys think of the video guide I added? (I asked permission from the author before adding it). Assassin Warrior 01:13, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
Keg[edit]
y do kegs hurt the vateries but nuthin else?
- User error. 66.190.15.232 17:33, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- Kegs hurt anything, but even as a shadowform sin theres some enemys you best not engage... they either have monster attack spells or area of effects that get thru the shadowform, or they escape the knockdown and leave the AoE or they are too remote to bother with... The quick zone for the Vat and the fact the spawn all nice and close, shadowform renders their attacks useless and they huddle up in melee make them the prefect targets... Game Update[edit]
Game update to blackpowder killed this farm... Game updates/20090611 MrPaladin talk 10:42, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- cant u just wait longer between kegs and them not scatter why wouldnt that work? Burning Babies 13:39, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- The old method would keep them in a Knocklock preventing them from scattering... with the restriction it can still work as the only healing option they have is to avoid combat and self regen... it has jsut slowed down the method greatly making this farming option much less desirable over other methods... time = money MrPaladin talk 13:46, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- yeh but it used to be stupid fast and there are still like a hundred million vaettirs or would it just be better to take burning speed or lava font or something? i dont know Burning Babies 13:52, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes.. elementalist can still farm the 60 vaettirs. -- Karasu (talk) 14:06, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- take the keg to help a chain of an area spike... but using it by itself with shadowform is not worth it... watch as people who consider themselves elite sins find another way to kill the Vat's without the keg... MrPaladin talk 14:25, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- That's not the problem. Probably just sliver armor will fix everything and make the run to there even faster. My problem is that my mesmer is now unable to farm it anymore. What do I have to do now? Farm feathers? There's hardly anything worth soloing left. -- Karasu (talk) 14:36, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Any Use At All?[edit]
Is there any point to this NPC or hiring him any longer? --72.188.16.135 08:06, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
