Knocklock

Knocklocking is the act of continuously quarterknocking a player using knock downs to prevent them from taking action for a period. Long knockdown chains with short breaks can also be considered knocklocking. This has many applications, including but not limited to:

  • holding foes in AoE DoT spells.
  • preventing enemy defensive characters from reacting to spikes.
  • keeping players shutdown as a means of res control.
  • acting as a snare of sorts.
  • preventing enemy offensive characters from scoring kills.

In GvG and HA, hammer Warriors are generally expected to do this, though some sword and axe Warriors, typically using "Coward!", are also adept providing continuous knockdowns. In lower arenas, such as RA, Assassins are often run for their knocklocking abilities.

Though rarer, knocklocking is occasionally employed in high-end PvE; for example, several players running Ursan Blessing were able to keep enemy mobs knocked down for large amounts of time, and were used for this purpose in Domain of Anguish groups.
